Love in its various avatars.. This is valachi ussal.. Very simple preparation and yum tasty. It's a delicacy in pune and generally served in weddings and functions at an added cost 😆 reason being it's extremely time consuming to prep this before cooking. You have to soak them and seperate skin on each of the val individually.. Herculean task!

But then you are lucky if you have mothers or elder sisters who do this for you. Thanks Swati for cleaning and sending this.. Blessed!

Not only for this medal but for all that this signifies. The hardwork and dedication behind it for the last so many years. The no cribbings about being tired or bored to do the classes. The long trudge to the class after a tiring school day. Come rain or shine or birthday parties. 🤗

A younger version of myself always wondered how the rice bhakri made by my neighbor Pavshe Kaku was so soft, spotless and tasted so yum with the mutton rassa she made. It soaked up all that rassa and the taste was super delicious.
It takes a little patience and lot of love is what the older version has now realized 😀
Here's a better version of my bhakri, not near the one that kaku made, but getting better everyday.
