In the weeks leading up to Jammertest, the engineering team is pre-assembling the vehicle roof rack, one component of the broader setup we'll use during the event's GNSS driving and motorcade tests.
The rack consists of 3 external antennas, 3 receiver enclosures, an external AIMU, and approximately 40 cables (RF, DC power, USB, Ethernet, etc.), all held together on an aluminum T-slot bar structure, which collectively weighs a whopping 30 kg (and counting)! 🏋️
Rebuilding this rack when it lands in Norway may be a 4+ hour challenge, but at least it comes with a pretty fantastic unintended benefit: our team never has to worry about losing their car in the parking lot 🚗😏
Jammertest is an annual event hosted at Andøya, Norway. It is probably the largest open PNT/GNSS resilience test in the world.
At the jammer test event, participants will be subjected to both simple and sophisticated spoofing and jamming attacks allowing actors from both public and private sector to test their PNT systems and products for potential weaknesses against both unintentional and intentional attacks.
