Not the best of beginnings but can't be helped. A painful tennis elbow has put me out of action for now! (Side affects of a physically strenuous profession I am afraid :( ) So till I get a go ahead from my physiotherapist I will not be able to take orders. I do apologise for any inconveniences this may cause ( and some orders that I have had to turn down!). Thanks for all the support and patience :) looking forward to some R&R (read physio)!!

Finally wrapped up all orders for the season. Time to put up my feet, and spend some precious time with family and friends. After all, that's what the Christmas spirit is also about, isn't it? So on that note, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! Feliz Navidad!

December is here bringing with it festivities, bonhomie, and a spirit of goodwill, hope, and joy! It is a special time of the year for us, not just that it happens to be the busiest, but also a time when we reflect on the year gone by and plan for the new one. These past few months have been especially exciting here at Sugar Stories as we explore new creative avenues to reinvent the business. Having said that, and due to pressing personal constraints, we will unfortunately not be able to take any bespoke orders this month. We are however open to orders for our rich Christmas cakes though in limited quantities. Please note that these are our regular cakes, (not the bespoke ones) as shown in the pictures below. So please do make your bookings, we will not be taking any orders for these post 18th of December.
Rest, keep watching this space for more details. To new beginnings....

Pia and Dimitri's wedding cake. A truly global wedding, remarked the groom's mother as she chatted with me at the cake table. And it truly was as the cake design took its inspiration from the wedding card that showcased olive leaves (from the Groom's country) and hibiscus (from the bride's country of course!) flowers.

My first International Cake Collaboration! So proud to be sharing my creation with you. To be featured amidst some of the most amazing sugar artists in the world is an honor by itself.

A short write-up about my creation: India is just as unique as it is diverse. So much so that I have often thought: what is it that binds us? The answer came to me when I heard a Khasi village girl sing a Bollywood number in the remote state of Meghalaya. Of course, it had to be Bollywood! This piece showcases three iconic films - Mughal-e-Azam, Guide, and Mera Naam Joker. For the first two I showcased the costumes and dance forms through its vibrant posters. For Mera Naam Joker I have made a hoarding behind which stands the iconic ‘Joker’ with the lyrics – Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan (We’ll live here, we’ll die here). Finally, the frames for the posters were inspired by Rajasthani jharokas (enclosed balconies) with their intricate carvings.
The Incredible India e-mag and hard copy are available for purchase and all proceedings will go to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Funds. Price Rs 250/- for e-mag and 300/- plus shipping for the hard copy. Please get in touch with Tina Scott Parashar @ [email protected].
