Simchat Torah feels different now.

It is still a holiday built around joy — dancing, singing, gathering together, finishing the Torah and beginning it all over again. But since October 7, that joy carries something else alongside it.

Maybe that makes the small ways we celebrate feel even more meaningful.

So I made a Simchat Torah Bucket List. Not a list of things we should do, but little ways to bring meaning, connection and yes, some joy, into the holiday.

Learn something. Invite someone over. Bring treats to shul. Dance. Start a chavruta. Stay up a little too late.

And then begin again.

Same Torah. A new beginning. Always something to celebrate. 💙

And because this one is meant to be shared, you can download the Simchat Torah Bucket List for free on ChallahCrumbs. Print it, save it, send it to a friend or share it with your family.

Sukkot has its big moments (the meals! The guests!), and then it has the other moments. 😂
Someone needs a sweater.
Something blows off the table.
There’s a bug at dinner.
You’re carrying way too many dishes back into the kitchen.

Those are the moments I wanted to capture with Sukkot Bingo.

Four different printable cards filled with all the funny, cozy, slightly chaotic little things that make Sukkot feel like Sukkot.

Print one for everyone and see who gets BINGO first — or just keep them around all chag and see how many squares you manage to check off.

Print it. Bring it outside. Play all chag. 🌿🍋
Available now in the ChallahCrumbs Etsy shop — link in bio.

(Shout out to the perfect seasonally appropriate sweater song in the audio)

Sukkot, for me, has always been a combination of big moments — the meals! the guests! -- but it also has the other moments.
Someone needs a sweater.
Something blows off the table.
There’s a bug in your food.
You’re carrying 47 dishes back into the kitchen.
So I turned all of it into Sukkot Bingo (because why not?)

Four different printable cards, filled with the little moments that make Sukkot feel like Sukkot — so everyone in the family can play along throughout the chag.

Print it. Bring it outside. Play all chag.

If Sukkot could have a signature drink, this would be it.

It’s a love story to the outdoors, to late nights in the sukkah, to that moment when the air gets a little chilly and you’re not quite ready to go inside.

I love the addition of maple syrup to the hot chocolate, but the salted maple homemade whipped cream is what takes it over the top. Sweet, a little salty, and absolutely worth the extra five minutes.

It’s a winner.

Yom Kippur looked different for a while when the kids were young. The 25 hours passed in a flurry of new puzzles, a dining room table covered in Lego, board games and books. There was shul squeezed in here and there, but mostly, the day was about getting everyone through it.

This year felt different. After a pretty difficult year, I found myself wanting to be in shul more. I wanted to reflect a bit, (cry a bit), connect a bit. I even gravitated towards pre-fast food my mom used to make.

Funny how traditions disappear for a while, change shape, and then quietly find their way back.

Yom Kippur asks a lot of kids and teens. It’s a long day, the davening can feel unfamiliar, and so much of what we’re talking about—teshuvah, forgiveness, change, becoming better—can feel pretty abstract.

So I wanted to frame the day in language kids actually speak.

What kind of friend am I?
What brings out the best in me?
What’s one thing I could make right?
What do I want to do a little less of?
Who do I want to be when I’m sitting here again next Yom Kippur?

I made this Yom Kippur “Food” for Thought to help make the ideas of the day feel a little more accessible, personal and relevant for kids and teens.

Print it out. Tuck it into their machzor. Let them come back to it throughout the day.

I love me a great bucket list. It reminds me that while my to-do list may be endless — especially around the chagim — there are also all those little extras that make it fun and creative and interesting.

So this year, I’m giving my bucket list a little attention too.

First up: Rosh Hashanah. 🍎🍯

Not things I have to do. Just a few things I’d really like to do to make the season feel a little sweeter.

If there’s one snack that disappears faster than you can say “just one handful,” it’s muddy buddies.

This version is a Loaded Muddy Buddies with Tahini Drizzle, fully loaded with chocolate, peanut butter, pretzels, marshmallows, halva, and a drizzle of tahini for that sweet-salty bite that somehow keeps everyone coming back for more.
Perfect for Shavuot, movie nights, weekend hosting, or keeping in the fridge for whenever people start wandering through the kitchen looking for something good to snack on.
Make a big batch. Honestly, you’ll be glad you did.

Sometimes, I don't even serve this dessert. I make it and leave it in the back fridge and then the people in the know quietly make their way over with a fork in hand to dig into this no-bake chocolate peanut butter cheesecake.

Recipe is up on ChallahCrumbs:

A cold, creamy no-bake cheesecake with a chocolate crumb crust, peanut butter filling, and a glossy chocolate topping swirled with peanut butter and flaky salt. It tastes like a peanut butter cup grew up and moved into a springform pan.

There are cheesecakes that feel fancy and complicated, and then there are the ones that quietly become part of the table.

This one falls firmly into the second category.

Creamy cheesecake, tea biscuit crust, and a layer of dulce de leche poured over the top while the cake is cooling on the counter. Nothing dramatic. Just very, very good.

Also: I fully support eating the leftover slice straight from the fridge the next morning with coffee.

Recipe is up on ChallahCrumbs:

A creamy Israeli-style caramel cheesecake made with tea biscuits, גבינה לבנה, and dulce de leche — the kind of dessert you can make entirely from a neighborhood makolet run.
