The bit of cake day nobody warns you about. Slide 5 is a non-negotiable.
You've booked the cake. You've picked the flavour. The next bit is the stuff that always sneaks up on people the week before the celebration. Save this so you don't have to remember any of it later.
1. A raised stand helps keep adults from accidentally knocking into it in a chaotic kid-filled space.
2. A bread knife- Trust me, it's way easier to cut the cake without hacking your cake and dropping bits everywhere.
3. Simple gold or silver candles will compliment a bespoke cake that you made the effort of ordering. Multi coloured candles from the supermarket will clash, and make your cake look less beautiful.
4. Have tin foil at the ready, in case you want to send guests home with any leftovers, or to keep a piece for someone who couldn't make it.
5. A cool area is so important! If it's hot and humid then you'll need to make space in the fridge before you collect your cake.
Is there anything I forgot?
