Life lately 🤍
This week has been one of the strangest and scariest our family has had 🌸
A little over a week ago my sister Shannon was in work, living her normal everyday life, and within hours everything changed. After a week of hospitals, ambulances, scans, frightening episodes and so much uncertainty, Shannon has now been diagnosed with FND — Functional Neurological Disorder.
She has shared her full story and I’m going to share it here too because, until this week, I had never even heard of FND.
But mostly, I just want to say how unbelievably proud I am of my sister. ❤️
Watching someone you love go through something you can’t fix for them is such a helpless feeling. There have been moments this week where I’ve been terrified for her and wished I could take it all away.
She’s not home just yet and I know all she wants is to be back with Luke and her babies. There are still so many unknowns ahead, but one thing she can be certain of is that she won’t face any of it alone. ❤️
And amongst all the scary stuff, life has somehow carried on — kids being kids, baby cuddles, dogs under our feet, far too many coffees, laughing in hospital when we probably needed it most, food, sunsets and eventually a very necessary frozen margarita 😂🍹
I think that’s what these photos are really about. Life doesn’t stop when something awful happens. The ordinary little moments keep happening around it, and sometimes they’re the things that get you through.
Shannon, I’m so proud of you. I love you more than you’ll ever know. ❤️
One day at a time. We’re all right beside you. 🤍
