Are you Ice Coffee fans or Cold Brew fans
Actually, what is the difference between iced coffee and cold brew? so allow me to help ya if you have the same questions.
Iced coffee is when coffee is brewed by any hot brewing method and then served over ice. If the coffee is poured directly over ice, you’ll get a diluted taste, so hopefully it has been given the chance to cool down a bit first. The good part about iced coffee is it’s SO easy to make, and you can use whatever brewing method you prefer. Put simply: iced coffee is literally just coffee & ice.
Then there is cold brew. More than just a fad, it is truly the best coffee out there. Cold brew is made by steeping ground coffee in water for 12-24 hours. By slowly steeping the coffee, you actually remove all of the acidity and bitterness of regular coffee. The result is a smooth, sweeter flavor, and it ends up being much easier on the stomach. In my opinion, there’s no comparison on the flavor.
The downside is because it takes so much time to brew and requires more coffee beans to produce (since you’re steeping in water, a lot of water gets absorbed, so you net less liquid) it ends up being pricier. But it’s worth it.
Regarding caffeine content, cold brew will typically be higher. Most cold brew is prepared as a concentrate with nearly twice as much caffeine as regular coffee. The final caffeine content, however, is affected by how exactly your coffee is served and what it is mixed with, so you’ll find it varying based on where/how it is ordered.
You may be thinking, “so why do I get charged more for iced coffee than hot coffee if it’s the same thing?” It’s just a scam, and one of those unfair things in life you have the accept.
The moral of this story is that while not all coffee is equal, it’s still coffee so it is all amazing. The end!
