On November 1, 2025, we will be celebrating The World Shochu Day at Mizunara: In Tokyo. We will hear about the personal journey of the founder of The Hachi Shochu, his interest in Shochu, the idea behind The Hachi Shochu and taste multiple labels alongside the underlying traditional Shochu itself and cocktails by Kyuma Mogi of Mizunara: In Tokyo.

After a tough and exciting judging process in Hong Kong & Singapore, we’re thrilled to reveal the bartenders moving forward to the Finale Round of The Hachi Shochu Cocktail Competition 2025!

These talented bartenders impressed our judges with their creativity, skill, and passion for crafting low abv cocktails using The Hachi Shochu.

The Hachi Shochu Cocktail Competition 2025 is underway in Hong Kong and Singapore!

This year, it’s all about crafting low- alcohol cocktails with Shochu. We love that several young bartenders took on the challenge as well and showed off their skills.

What’s exciting this year? Bartenders aren’t just creating the cocktails for judges —they’re putting their creations on special menus at their own bars, explaining about Shochu and serving them to their guests to experience this incredible spirit from Japan. It’s about the full experience: the vibe, the presentation, the bartending flair, and how the customers connect with Shochu and their cocktails. And we are sure they’re getting direct feedback from guests, helping them to tweak their creations.

A huge thanks to all the participants for their amazing low-ABV Hachi Shochu cocktails and great effort.

The finale’s coming soon, so stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled!

The Hachi Shochu, a Cask Maturation Style of Honkaku Shochu, which may not fit into a formal category, but carry a proud flag of Shochu rather than dress ourselves as whisky.

Crafted with the finest ingredients and aged in appropriate refill casks like Virgin Oak and Bourbon Oak, each bottle offers a premium and rich taste experience. Careful not to lose the Shochu in the cask maturation process.

Welcome, Jeff Kan — to the Hacchan Family!

We are delighted to announce Jeff, 2024 The Hachi Shochu Cocktail Competition Champion, as our first The Hachi Shochu Ambassador! Based in Hong Kong, Jeff crafts cocktails at one of the popular hotel bar in Asia!

Together with Hacchan, creator of The Hachi Shochu, Jeff will share the rich story of The Hachi Shochu —where every sip tells a story. This is more than a drink; it’s a crafted tradition, a shared passion, and an invitation to experience the soul of Kagoshima’s heritage.
