RHOSDDU FUN DAY IS THIS SATURDAY! 🎉

I'll be at Rhosddu Fun Day on Saturday 13th June from 12pm-7pm with a selection of my inclusive cakes and treats.

But I need your help...
🧁 What flavour would YOU like to see on my stall?
Comment below with your favourite flavour and on Thursday evening I'll randomly select one suggestion to add to this weekend's menu.
It could be:
🍫 Triple Chocolate
🍋 Lemon & Blueberry
🍓 Raspberry Ripple
🍪 Biscoff
🍎 Caramel Apple
☕ Coffee & Walnut (walnut-free flavouring version!)
🎂 School Cake

Or something completely different!

The winning flavour will be baked on Friday and available at the event on Saturday.
There'll be:

📖⚔️ The Enchiridion Cake ⚔️📖

This wasn't a customer order.

This was my son's birthday cake. If you're an Adventure Time fan, you'll recognise it as the Enchiridion – the legendary hero's handbook.

As cake makers, we spend so much time creating special memories for other families that sometimes we forget to share the ones we create for our own.

What I love most about cakes like this isn't the technical challenge (although turning a cake into an ancient magical book was definitely fun!). It's seeing someone's face when they realise you've taken something they love and brought it to life.

Every scratch, fold, worn corner and detail was hand-crafted to make it look like it had come straight out of the Land of Ooo.

And yes... he loved it ❤️

What TV show, film or game would you choose if someone made a cake just for you?

One thing that Levi Roots reminded me of is that most people buy into stories before they buy products. People Don't buy my cakes just because they are gluten and dairy free.

They buy them because:
- Their child can finally join in
- Their employee feels included
- Their family can celebrate together

That's the real product

To enter or not to enter?
I almost didn't enter myself for any awards, Like many business owners, I questioned whether I was 'good enough'. Or if by nominating myself I was somehow less worthy.

Fast forward now and I'm:
Woman Who Achieves Finalist
SBA Finalist in 2 categories
Best British Cake Finalist

A reminder that sometimes you need to submit the application before you feel ready.

Today I attended the Woman Who awards. Today wasn’t about leaving with a trophy. It was about walking into a room full of incredible women as a finalist for a special recognition award and reminding myself just how powerful connection, community, and courage can be.

Of course, winning would have been lovely — but what I gained was something just as valuable.

I met so many inspiring women. Some I already knew, some completely new, but every conversation left me feeling energised, motivated, and genuinely proud to be part of such a supportive community of female business owners.

And the biggest surprise? I didn’t just leave with memories and inspiration… I came away with new clients, exciting conversations about future collaborations, and potential partnerships for ventures still waiting to be created.

It’s amazing what can happen when you say yes to opportunities and allow the universe to give you a little push.

Events like the Woman Who Achieves Awards are such an important reminder that success isn’t always measured by what you take home in your hands — sometimes it’s measured by the people you meet, the doors that open, and the confidence you walk away with.

Feeling very grateful tonight. ✨

I held off posting over the last few days as I wanted to wait until the full results were in… and I’m so glad I did 💛

I’m incredibly proud to share that alongside being a finalist at Britain’s Best Cake 2026, I was also awarded a Bronze Medal 🥉

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has messaged, commented and supported me — it genuinely means so much.

To be recognised at this level, and to stand alongside some truly amazing (and much larger!) businesses, is something I’m really proud of.
A massive congratulations to 2magpiesbakery — all of your entries looked incredible 👏
And thank you to britishbaker and all of the sponsors for creating such a fantastic event and celebrating the industry in this way.
