This biscuit design was created especially for my youngest son’s buddy at school.

His primary school has such a wonderful buddy system, where every new Reception child is paired with a Year 6 pupil. It’s such a lovely way to help the children settle into school, build confidence and feel supported from day one.

Throughout the year, they share lunch together once a week and even have a dedicated playtime just for the Reception and Year 6 children. It’s a fantastic scheme, and one that has made such a difference to my little boy’s first year at school.

I honestly couldn’t have wished for a more positive start to school for him, and that has been helped enormously by his incredibly kind, thoughtful and caring buddy.

I wanted to create something special to say thank you, so I designed these personalised biscuits with a message just for her.

✨ Thank You ✨

This biscuit design was inspired by something I created last year for my youngest son’s key worker when he left nursery to start school. It featured a beautiful poem that perfectly captures the gratitude we feel for the teachers, nursery staff, childminders and caregivers who help our little ones learn, grow and thrive.

I knew I wanted to bring the design back this year as part of my Thank You teacher collection, and I’m so pleased I did because these biscuits proved incredibly popular! ❤️

The edible image was supplied by ELB Edible Prints who, as always, provided a fantastic service. Thank you for helping bring my ideas to life.

These biscuits were available in both clear cellophane bags and gift boxes, making them a thoughtful and delicious way to say thank you at the end of the school year.

It has been so lovely to see so many of you choosing them to show your appreciation to the special people who make a difference in your children’s lives every day.

⭐ You Rock! ⭐

My ‘You Rock’ biscuits were a brand-new design for this year’s Thank You, Teacher collection, and I was absolutely thrilled by how popular they proved to be!

The design was originally offered in Atlantic blue, but when it came to making the gifts for my own eight-year-old’s wonderful Year 3 teachers, I couldn’t resist mixing things up a little. Instead of sticking to one colour, I created three bright and colourful boxes to make each gift feel a little bit different and extra special. 🩵🩷💛

I have to say, as a team of Year 3 mums, we’ve got teacher gifting down to a fine art! 😂

I provide the edible gift, Susie - Essex Flower Farmer & Florist provides the beautiful flowers, and Anna Gibb 🖊 always creates the most fantastic card. All monetary donations then go towards a gift voucher (or two!) to help spoil the teachers even more.

It really is a team effort, and I’m so grateful to be part of it. Our children have been incredibly lucky to have such wonderful teachers this year, and it’s lovely to be able to show our appreciation in a small way.

🍉✨ Watermelon season! ✨🍉

One of my absolute favourite things about running Gem Gem’s Cakery is creating themed biscuits, and these little watermelons are no exception!

These fruity beauties have been accompanying my Summer Break biscuits as part of my Thank You, Teacher collection, and this is now the second year I’ve offered this design. Safe to say they’ve been just as popular this year as they were last year! 🍉☀️

Now, I’ll let you into a little secret... sometimes when one of my more intricate designs proves really popular, I slightly regret offering it in the first place! 😂

Each biscuit is hand-painted in two different colours and made using two different colours of fondant, so there’s quite a bit of work that goes into every single watermelon. After you’ve made 15 of them, you do start to go a little bit melon crazy! 🍉🤪

(I’m mostly joking, of course!)

The truth is, I genuinely appreciate every single order, and it always makes me do a little happy dance knowing that the designs I create are loved by all of you. Seeing your support for my seasonal collections makes all the hours worthwhile.

So thank you for keeping me busy and for loving these watermelons as much as I do! 🍉💚

🍎✨ Thank You, Teacher season 2026 ✨🍎

I can honestly say that this has been my busiest Thank You, Teacher season yet!

I’m incredibly proud that my seasonal bakes continue to be so popular, but without a doubt, the end of the school year is always my busiest time. With nearly all children finishing school today, the last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind.

Juggling orders, keeping on top of everything needed for the end of term for my two boys, being present in my day job for three days this week, and somehow fitting in a rescheduled Sports Day on Monday has definitely been a challenge. Add in the soaring temperatures and a very hot kitchen, and to say it hasn’t been easy would be an understatement!

But despite the long days and late nights, I wouldn’t be here without all of you.

Thank you to everyone who has ordered from me, shared my posts, recommended my bakes to friends and family, liked, commented, and continued to support my little business. Every single order and every kind word means so much, and none of it goes unnoticed.

As we head into the summer holidays, I’ll be slowing things down a little to spend some much-needed time with my children and my teacher husband. I’ll still be baking here and there, but for the most part I’ll be making the most of family time and enjoying a slightly slower pace.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, fun, and plenty of happy memories. ☀️❤️

🦒✨ Giraffe print biscuits for a very special birthday! ✨🦒

I had the honour of making these giraffe print biscuits for Phoebe’s 10th birthday, and it’s become a lovely little tradition that her mum orders biscuits from me as part of her birthday celebrations each year.

What makes it even more special is that Phoebe’s mum, Maxine, is a fellow baker Maxine | Bespoke Cakes for Kids | Colchester, Essex . In an industry where we all understand the hard work, passion, and dedication that goes into every order, it means so much when another baker chooses to support your small business.

I’m also incredibly lucky to say that Maxine has become one of my very best pals in this wonderfully crazy baking world, and I’m so grateful for her continued support and friendship.

Gotta bake ‘em all! 🎉⚡

These chocolate Pokémon cupcakes were created for Vinnie’s 7th birthday this weekend, and they were so much fun to make! Each cupcake featured rich chocolate sponge, topped with silky chocolate buttercream, edible Pokémon toppers, personalised toppers, and coordinating sprinkles to bring the whole theme together.

I hope Vinnie had the most amazing birthday! 💛

If you’re still looking for a little something for Dad, I’ve got a selection of Father’s Day themed biscuits waiting for you in the Cake Shed this weekend!

The Cake Shed is open:
Today: 9am – 8pm
Tomorrow: 9am – 8pm

Alongside the Father’s Day biscuits, you’ll find plenty of other yummy goodies that make perfect gifts... or simply a treat for yourself (because why should Dad have all the fun!?)

I’ve also popped some Father’s Day stickers in the shed, so if you’d like to put together a little gift bag of goodies, just grab one of the paper bags and add a sticker to make it extra special.
