I’d genuinely forgotten how chaotic piping buttercream can be 😅

Even after decorating a three tier wedding cake, there’s only a board and a handful of palette knives to throw in the dishy!

As someone who suffers with anxiety and OCD, I feel guilty all the time about everything but these are the hills I’ll die on. No one wants to buy a cake baked by me, or my interpretation of a Demon Hunters cake. If I can find a pic of the Ferrari cake I’ll show you.

We’re sculpting an open buttercream peony, still using our printed floral illustration (you can download this from the files in my FB group).

Palette knife peonies take practice and patience, which is why this simple set-up works so well. Pay attention to how I use two palette knives to place the petals as we move into the centre of the flower. I hope you like my hack for the centre!! I do this all the time. Even for dahlias.
