A little bit of understated elegance at Primrose Hill 🤍

This three-tier wedding cake was all about simplicity, texture and one rather fabulous statement bow.

Finished in soft ivory with an oversized satin ribbon cascading down the tiers, it sat beautifully amongst the gorgeous greenery and relaxed styling at Primrose Hill Farm.

And inside, three different flavours for the guests to enjoy:
Carrot & Vanilla
Vanilla & Salted Caramel
Lemon & Lemon Curd

There’s something very special about delivering a wedding cake, setting it up in its place and then seeing the whole room come together around it.

A beautifully prepared afternoon buffet, made for gathering together. 🤍

This week's spread was filled with homemade favourites — generously filled finger sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls and quiche, fresh crudités with dips, freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, and plenty of sweet treats too.

Everything was prepared from scratch, presented ready to serve, and made with the same care I’d want for my own guests.

We also catered separately for a guest with specific dietary requirements, so she could enjoy her own savoury and sweet selection alongside everyone else.

Whether it’s a celebration, family gathering, corporate lunch or something altogether more personal, Bloon & Co. catering is tailored to the occasion and the people you’re feeding.

A joint birthday cake for Nicky & Louie 🎂

Turning 8 and 7 called for something completely bespoke — camouflage, personalised dog tags and two little soldiers, handmade especially for them.

I particularly loved making the little figures for this one (muddy uniforms and all!) and the oversized dog tags brought the whole design together perfectly.

A closer look at Rhona’s celebration cake, because some cakes really do deserve a second look.

From individually shaped and textured sugar petals to tiny pearl details, touches of rose gold and that soft, textured buttercream finish — every element was added by hand.

I especially loved working with this colour palette: blush, dusty rose and deep burgundy against warm ivory. Soft, elegant and just a little bit dramatic.

For many years, I happily decorated cakes with fresh flowers.

As food safety guidance has evolved, I made the decision to stop using them altogether.

While fresh flowers can look beautiful, many aren’t food safe. Pesticides, floristry treatments, sap and exposed stems can all present risks when they come into contact with cake.

For me, protecting my clients always comes first.

Instead, I create beautiful designs using handcrafted wafer paper flowers, sugar flowers or carefully selected artificial flowers where appropriate.

The result is just as elegant, but with complete peace of mind.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing an afternoon tea come together. 🤍

This weekend, we had the pleasure of creating and setting up a traditional afternoon tea in a beautiful Warwickshire manor house for a special celebration.

Every sandwich, scone, cupcake and homemade bake was freshly prepared in our kitchen before being carefully arranged ready for guests to enjoy. It's always a privilege to play a small part in someone's celebration, and seeing everything beautifully laid out makes all the planning worthwhile.

A huge thank you to our lovely client for choosing Bloon & Co. We hope everyone had a wonderful afternoon.
