Yesterday we made a cake for and was invited as a guest to ‘The Big Lunch’ at the City Learning Quarter Campus.

It was a pleasure to be a guest alongside Mark Heywood, Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, and another former student like me. The Big Lunch was to celebrate 25 years of City of Wolverhampton College and the impact its made over the past quarter of a century!

I was asked to say a few words about my time at the college which coincidentally was also 25 years ago! Who would’ve thought back then when I was college student, I’d be back as a guest speaker and a cake maker.

The event formed part of The Big Lunch – the UK’s annual celebration of community, connection and togetherness – and also marked the launch of their new Alumni Network, helping former students stay connected with the college and each other.
