This is definitely the largest single tier cake I have made to date!
3 x 14 inch lemon sponge layers, sandwiched together with raspberry jam, lemon buttercream swirled with lemon curd and decorated with fresh raspberries.
This cake is for a wedding today. I love the fact that it looks so summery and fresh.

If you have a special occasion coming up, I am still taking orders for weekend collection - cakes, traybakes, puddings, buffet food and family dining.

Busy Baking Week!
I have been a bit quiet lately as I really haven’t had time to post!
Some of you may be aware that Mima (my middle daughter) has taken up a full time position in a local firm - so I am back to the one woman show in the shop. Unless of course, I can bribe any of my daughters or friends to come and help when I get too overwhelmed 🤪🤪
This week I have had several celebration cakes and food orders, which has kept me out of mischief but probably added a few grey hairs to my already rapidly whitening mop! The tart is classic quiche Lorraine and the dish in the background is Haddock & Vegetable Mornay😋😋
Next week I will be concentrating on topping the freezer up as it is nearly empty again! Don’t forget that I take batch orders to avoid disappointment.
Also, my summer home entertainment menu and meal range list will be in the shop next week to help you plan for those hot summer weekends and balmy evenings 🤞🤞☀️☀️🕶

Happy Wednesday! Today we are dreaming about chocolatey deliciousness 😇🍩🥰🍫

This was a celebration cake we made for a customer last weekend, and who wouldn’t want to celebrate with oodles of chocolate?! 🤩😱🤤 Not only are the sponge and buttercream chocolate and hazelnut flavoured, but we have also crumbled some of our incredible Langtons Brownie on the top to make it that little more indulgent 😋🍫🍩

Did you know that all of our sandwiches are homemade? 🙏🏼👩🏼‍🍳

Nothing tastes better than a sandwich lovingly made by somebody else 🥰😋 you should not expect anything less when buying a sandwich from us! All of our fillings are made fresh on the premises, including our ever popular coronation chicken, and each sandwich is finished with a flourish of love 🤩💕 Paired with our incredible bread, baked by Plaxtol Bakery, our sandwiches really are the best in town 🤌🏼

And if that wasn’t enough of a reason to stop by, we have also created some meal deals to go with our wonderful sandwiches 🎉🥳 You can choose one of the following (or both if you are particularly hungry!)—

We are not operating a cafe service but we would love to welcome you to take a seat with your takeaway drink and cake! We highly recommend sitting by our sunny window with a Langtons Brownie, there really isn’t anything quite like them 🤤🍫☕️

And just like that, we are open again once more…And we couldn’t be more excited! 🤩🎉
We won’t lie to you, these last couple of weeks have been very difficult for us, and we are not out of the woods yet. We hope that our new refurbishment will encourage both regular customers, and new ones as well, to enjoy what we have to offer and feel welcome when they pop in 🥰🙏🏼 Please do pop in to say hello, and even stay for a chat and a cup of tea, we need your support more than ever! ❤️‍🩹🫂
You will also notice that we have brought back our freezer, which keeps hold of our delicious home range meals, as well as brought back our display of freshly made sandwiches and pastries 🤩🍲🥘🥪🥐 Make sure to keep an eye out for our new meal deals and our weekly changing cake selection 😋🍰🍫
