Due to the heat, the original script was unable to be delivered...
A BIG thank you to all of my team who are always there, by my side, providing great support and for one another.

And a special thank you to our lovely service user Mark, who contributed to our team video, and my very dedicated, patient managers, Amy West, Tik Rasa, Steve Dowley, and our lovely team member Vishal Mishra... 💞

Another proud announcement to say how very proud of our great team members who also revived their nomination, very well deserved.... Be very Proud of yourselves, Maisie, Agota, Rasa and Amy.

Original transcript...
"To be nominated for the Proud of Care Award is something I never imagined...and I feel truly honoured.
I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who nominated me, and to those who shortlisted me.
Knowing that people have taken the time to recognise my journey means more to me than any award ever could.

I don’t do what I do for recognition; I do it because I genuinely care. So, from the bottom of my heart... thank you...
"Being a Registered Manager isn’t a 9-5 job... and it certainly isn’t about being in a position of power.

It’s about people.

It’s about living every moment, standing beside your team, supporting the people you care for, and never asking anyone to do something you’re not prepared to do yourself.

For over 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside so many amazing people. Every single one has taught me something and helped shape the manager I am today.

There have been challenges... There have been tears... There have been moments where giving up would have been the easier option, but I never did.
You keep going. You lead from the front, you support your team through the difficult days, and you give every person you care for the very best of yourself. At the end of the day, if you know you’ve done your best, you can hold your head high...
"...because no one achieves anything on their own".

This incredible team beside me are the reason I can do what I do. Every one of them brings something special, and together... we make a difference every single day.

I’m so proud to call them my team. They don’t just represent me; they represent kindness, compassion, commitment, and everything that good care should be. They lift each other up, they support one another, and they always put the people we care for first.

This nomination belongs just as much to them as it does to me...

My journey has never just been about me.

I hold this nomination with great pride, not only for myself, but for every Registered Manager who gets up each day determined to make a difference, even when nobody is watching.

To every manager out there, keep believing in yourself. Keep learning, keep growing, and never give up. Along the way, you’ll meet people who will change your life forever.
Some will stay for years, some for only a short time, but every one of them leaves something behind that helps shape the person you become.

Finally, to my fellow shortlisted nominees, I wish every one of you the very best of luck at the Proud of Care Awards. Whatever happens, we should all be proud of the difference we make in people’s lives every single day.

Thank you for reading, & to the Proud To Care Team, for all their great efforts 💙 Proud To Care Cornwall
