Free Cakes for Kids Thetford was started by Shauna Tate in March 2014. At Free Cakes for Kids Thetford, we have a team of local volunteers, some professionals but mostly amateur bakers who enjoy making cakes in their spare time, these volunteers bake birthday cakes for children who would otherwise go without. When a cake is requested we match it with the volunteer who then buys their own ingredien

ts and bakes something tailored to the child's interests and dietary requirements. This is all part of our special free, friendly and confidential service. Often, cake requests come from local organisations within the Thetford community such as Home-Start and The Benjamin Foundation. Free Cakes for Kids Thetford is 1 of over 80 Free Cakes for Kids organisations across the UK that all began in 2008 when Henriette Lundgren saw something similar happening in the United States.
