With the devastating news that the Musical Legend, Prince has passed away, I feel compelled to honour him here. My customers may or may not know this, but I'm a huge, lifelong Prince fan and it's a little known fact that each and every cake that I have made over the years, had a musical accompaniment provided by Prince. His music inspired me, kept me company during the long hours and late nights whilst I designed and created cakes. For the past 32 years his music has got me through some incredibly tough times and helped me to celebrate and relish the good times too. He made me think, made me laugh, made me dance and made me sing. I am profoundly saddened by his passing, but I'm incredibly grateful for the music and for the opportunities I had to see him live. Thank you, Mr Nelson. You will be 'Forever in my Life' O(+>

Yesterday saw my daughter, Elsa turn 6 (yes, we called her Elsa before Disney made it cool! ;) so of course she wanted a 'Frozen' inspired birthday cake! Frankly it would be rude not to!
We have developed a little tradition of princess cakes over the last couple of years, I wonder who they will choose next...

This is the wedding cake I made for the most *Lovely*, down to earth, friendly couple, called Nancy & Chris, who got married at Walcot Hall a few weeks ago (what a stunning, quirky venue, set in the incredible Shropshire countryside!) I was so excited about doing this cake for them, but also incredibly nervous - I can't even tell you how much sleep I lost over it as I wanted to get it perfect for them. I took inspiration from the artwork that they had commissioned for their wedding stationery, the quirky venue and their peacock theme. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Nancy & Chris in their wedding finery, as they were a bit busy with the important business of getting married. I think they're still on their honeymoon, but I really, *really* hope they liked it!
