FOUR WEEKS TO GO UNTIL NATIONAL STATIONERY WEEK!
THE COUNTDOWN STARTS NOW!
Once again, RAINBOWS will be sponsoring a competition for this very special week in the penpaller's calendar so read this post carefully!
Stuck for an idea to do something different for this, our third year of , we asked Laker who organises National Stationery Week, for some ideas and she came up with 'Recycling an envelope for re-use' which is a great one! If you want some inspiration, google the subject and there's hundreds of ideas to choose from ... or be creative and use your own!
Take a good sized envelope (at least C5 (that's the size your Rainbows mag comes in) and cover it or paint it and then begin your design. Choose a single colour, or multi-colours, a theme - like animals or your town - anything goes! You can use any medium - paint, felt tips, washi tape, stick pictures cut from magazines - anything to make it stand out from the crowd! Then use it to go through the post to us at Rainbows. You'll definitely be the talk of the local Postal Sorting Office …. especially my one when they all find their way to Ilminster!
Just to add to the fun, enclose a letter to someone else who might be entering the competition and tell them how you thought of your idea and how you created it. Add a little bit about yourself, then we'll swap all the letters around and send them to someone else doing the competition! Don't forget to include your own name and address inside the envelope too! (And a letter to me if you like!)
SO – GET CREATIVE AND GET CRACKING!
The closing date will be the last day of National Stationery Week -
May 17th. We can’t wait to see your entries!
