Fancy a nibble cake club Do you love baking and eating cakes? Then the cake club is just for you. Established in 2012, pre Covid we have met every month since.

SAVE THE DATE…….
To celebrate National Picnic Week I thought it would be nice to get together for a picnic in Botanic Gardens. It’s on Saturday June 20th at 2pm. Please bring along something savoury for yourself and cake to share. I’ll grab a space near the hut as seen on the photo. I’ve had an email from Ash from Queenscourt Hospice asking once again for donations of cakes for their yearly Open Garden.

“We will be here at the hospice all day on Friday 19th June until 5pm if anyone wanted to drop cakes off that day or on the Saturday 20th June in the morning before 11am. We will setting up behind the hospice in the gardens.”

Excellent meeting of the Formby Bake Club tonight. Their guest was Brian Waring, brother of Marcus. What a lovely man! He cooked a Steak Diane and Seabass. Both looked delicious!

I’ve always said I’m useless at making pastry, but realistically I regularly made fruit pies etc at Sweeps. The theme for the Formby Bake Club tonight is Tarts, So, three years after last making pastry I thought I’d give it another go. I’m impressed with how my Bakewell Tart turn out. I hope it tastes ok and doesn’t have a soggy bottom c
