I have made the very difficult decision to close Evelyn's Cake Shed until after the summer.

It is extremely difficult in the extreme temperatures we have been experiencing to keep the cakes and bakes from spoiling. Also, it has been hard to gauge how much to bake as people want ice cream, not cake, in a heatwave.

I am disappointed and sad that temporarily closing Evelyn's Cake Shed is necessary, but i only want to provide the very best quality bakes that are not spoiled by the heat. I have big dreams for the Cake Shed and want to offer a much wider range, but this will need customer support and more footfall once the weather is cooler.

I will be back baking soon, probably end August/September. I hope that you will come back and support me then. Stay safe, and have a lovely summer. Thank you for your support thus far; it means the world x

The infamous Evelyn's scone is back! Just in time for strawberries and cream season!

Available by pre-order and payment only via DM on Evelyn's Cake Shed Insta or FaceBook page. Orders and payment by 8pm Thursday, please. You will be sent bank details to pay via bank transfer.

All scones will be baked fresh and put in Evelyn's Cake Shed in a named bag, for collection from 11am Saturday. Don't forget to buy your preserve and cream, ready!!

I am VERY fussy about scones, and they are best eaten on the day they are baked. They can be frozen but so much better warm from the oven.

UPDATE - CINNAMON SWIRLS NOW READY! AND IN THE CAKE SHED!

Cinnamon swirls are on their way! 45-60min and they're all yours

But . . . I've also experimented . . . Oreo swirls. Family are going to taste test them. If they're a hit, they'll be in the shed another weekend.
