Who needs gloves anyway? I do. Forgot them didn’t I 🙄

This bold vision was brought to life onsite at the venue. I stood there and hand painted the cake till it was exactly how I had envisioned before adding the floating rice paper sails to complete the look.

Top tier > Cheap clients. Let’s talk about it 👇🏼

Not everyone can or wants to spend over £1k on a cake and that’s OK.

Having a budget is one thing, I always try to work with my clients and offer them suggestions to accommodate their needs.

Then there are price-led clients. They don’t just have a budget, they are wanting the cheapest price they can find regardless of quality, skill or experience. This is the customer that ends up undervaluing and overworking YOU 😩

It’s important to be respectful of all budgets and help guide your customer on what you can realistically offer them without devaluing yourself or working for nothing.

There will always be another baker who is “charging less”. Find your market position and hold your ground. The clients will come.

Wedding cake cost reveal 💍 ✨

You might be surprised by these prices of a home baker running a luxury cake business but the reality is, most wedding cakes are bespoke made to the exact specification for each couple and their day. There’s no set price list because the price depends on many variables which in turn has contributed to lack of transparency between cake designers and prospective couples. It can feel like smoke and mirrors as a customer. Not everyone wants to have to send an enquiry just to get an idea of possible costs whilst they’re still weighing up budgets and options.

Many cake artists list base prices on their websites as a starting point and even provide an average investment amount that might be required for certain sized cakes. This is all great and very helpful but videos like this one go one step further, not only by being open about pricing but helping other cake professionals realise their worth and what is possible ❤️
