Appreciation post for a thought provoking drawing by a primary school child. In the last year a lot of awareness has been raised thanks to young people and children educating themselves and taking action into their own hands. A massive well done to anyone who has contributed to the huge uprising against the . We have raised awareness and educated people and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings 👏🌲❤️🍂 🌍 🌎

Upcoming event! The wonderful is hosting a teenage clothes swap next month! On the 24th of October, if you’re aged 14-17 year, go along and swap all the unwanted clothes that are clogging up your wardrobe for some funky new ones! Tickets are available on eventbrite and if you need more information check out their Instagram or pop into the shop on and speak to the lovely staff.

is performing on the 5th of October at St Mary’s church in the centre of Shoreham. The concert is being presented by Extinction Rebellion. It will be an evening of music, discussion and information. It’s free entry and anyone and everyone’s welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

Extinction Rebellion Shoreham Youth have changed our meeting time and place. During the summer we’ve been meeting outside but now that the evenings are growing colder and darker ❄️ we’re moving indoors! Our meetings are now taking place on MONDAY evenings at the CO-OP COMMUNITY SPACE (which is opposite the big co-op in Ham Road). So to confirm::::: meetings are now taking place on Mondays, 19.30-21.00 at the co op community space. And yes, our meetings still come with free biscuits 🍪

Well we went onto the streets. It was quiet and rainy but we made our presence known and got people talking. Plenty of flyers have been given out and people made aware of meetings so hopefully this is the start of us beginning to grow. Due to it being quiet in town we decided to postpone our die in till was busier. Thank you to everyone who turned up. And thanks for the support from @ Shoreham, West Sussex, United Kingdom

Action this Sunday‼️ This Sunday we’re going to be doing a ‘soaked’ die in. Basically a normal die in but we’re gonna take a quick dip in the Sea before hand and have buckets of river water being poured over volunteers. (Please note that you can take part without getting wet- just let us know before hand!) The point of the die in is to let Shoreham know that the Youth group exists and to bring attention to the rising sea levels that are going to massively affect- and eventually drown our town. Well hopefully be joined by and . It would be great to see as many people as possible there so spread the word and invite your friends! Timings are as follows:
10am-11am- meet at CORONATION GREEN to do some last minute crafty, poster making 11.15- anyone wishing to take part in the die in meet at Coronation Green before heading over to the beach. 12- ‘Soaked’ Die In by the War Memorial. Come as a poster holder, die in partaker or just an observer. Bring a bucket and clothes that you don’t mind having river water poured over. And last but not least bring a smile!

Updates from yesterday’s meeting! Thank you to everyone who turned up for the meeting. We were a small group but that didn’t stop us getting a lot done!

We now have a Facebook group chat- if you want to join please message us and we’ll send you the link. Don’t forget to look for our Facebook group as well. If you want to receive our newsletter which will let you know what we’ve discussed in the weeks meeting, what we’ll be discussing next week and any upcoming events then message us your email address. THE REBELLION IS ON.... 02.07.2019 Shoreham Youth has its very first meeting tomorrow at 7.30-9pm. We’re very excited and have lots of things to discuss and actions to plan. Please message us to let us know if you’re planning on attending and if there’s anything you’d like to be added to the agenda. ———————————————Bring snacks if you’re the kind of person that gets peckish and please bring a small donation towards the cost of the room (anything, no matter how small is appreciated). ——————————————-We’re also going to be joined by some representatives from and will hopefully be planning some joint actions.

FIRST MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT!
