Adding those final little touches and seeing your beautiful cake come to life in its final position is honestly one of my favourite parts of what I do ♡

Sometimes I’m quietly setting up on my own in the morning before the wedding day has truly begun. Sometimes I have a little audience of excited guests watching along. And sometimes the evening celebrations are already in full swing around me! ✨

Whatever the time, I’m always in my element, usually smiling away, with the occasional glimpse of my very serious concentration face when it comes to stacking!

And that’s the beauty of booking your wedding cake with me… once your date is secured in my diary with your deposit, I’m really flexible when it comes to set-up timings.

I’m always more than happy to arrive whenever works best for you and your celebrations, whether that’s before guests arrive, in between the festivities or while the party is already underway.
I'll happily fit around you on your day ♡

Two beautiful weddings already this week and now September weddings are calling...traditionally the busiest month of wedding season and one I've been looking forward to so much.

There are so many lush designs, gorgeous venues to visit and honestly, just some of the loveliest couples days to be part of. I already can't wait and I am so hoping they'll be time for a congratulations hug or two squeezed in during setups along the way.

I honestly can't tell you how grateful I am that the temperatures have finally dropped! This heatwave has been something else... it well and truly turned my cake world upside down!

Behind every beautiful wedding cake is a whole lot of planning, problem-solving and a cake designer quietly adapting to whatever Mother Nature decides to throw our way as we essentially become nocturnal creating and decorating through the coolest hours of the night.

It's all part of the job✌️

If you've ever wondered how wedding cake designers protect your cake during extreme weather, here are a few of the things we do behind the scenes...

✨ We work when it's coolest. Early mornings, late nights, sometimes through the night! Whatever it takes to keep your cake at its best.

✨ Choosing the right finish matters. Different finishes react very differently to heat. From fondant and ganache to buttercream and royal icing, every design is carefully considered for both the aesthetic and the conditions. (I'll do a dedicated post on this soon!)

✨ We carefully plan delivery and set-up times. Sometimes arriving earlier, sometimes later, I'm super flexible.

✨ We work closely with venues. Fridge storage can be brilliant, but it's not always as straightforward as it sounds. Commercial fridges often run very cold, which can cause condensation once a cake comes back out, so every venue and every cake is assessed individually.

✨ For particularly hot weddings, a beautifully designed dummy cake with a real cutting section in one tier can be the perfect solution. You still get the magical cake-cutting moment, while the rest of your delicious cake stays safely stored in the kitchen until it's ready to be served.

The truth is, so much of what we do happens behind the scenes, long before your guests ever see your cake. Every decision is made to ensure it arrives looking just as we designed it and tastes just as incredible as it looks!

Being part of your day is one thing, but hearing how much you loved your cake is literally the best feeling. So thank you to all of my lovely couples, you're all so lush! It makes all of the late nights, super early mornings and battling this crazy heat recently so worth it.

A little while ago, Sonny got in touch with THE loveliest idea.

For their anniversary, he wanted to surprise Matt by recreating some of the desserts from their wedding day! So, I sent over my recipe along with all the little tips and methods to help. Oh my, he absolutely smashed it!

I really love ideas like this. I'm always happy to share my recipes, especially when they're part of something so lovely. It's pretty special to know that something I made for one celebration could become part of another.

I honestly don't know where to start with posting pictures of yesterday. My inbox is full with the most stunning photos and I'm in love with each and every one of them!

So, I'll start here with a bit of a special moment. Seeing these two cuties adding a little dusting of icing sugar using the icing shaker that used to be my nan's ♡ heart = full.
