Because it’s support small business week and we got all nostalgic we made some of our lovely J*p Rounds. The last time we made these was for my dad’s funeral.

Crunchy, chewy, hazelnut meringue and chocolate…for me they are an absolute trip down memory lane!

I hope you are able to pop in and get one of these as they are so incredibly time consuming to make. Enjoy them while you can, as once they are gone, that’s it for a while!

We are also running our small business week promotion where you can pick up a free coffee or flapjack or gingerbread man when you spend over £10 as a way for us to say thank you for supporting us!

Just divine, darling. 💚

Our Spinach & Garlic Pasties are back… and judging by the reaction, they’ve still got quite the fan club.

Fresh spinach, garlic and plenty of cheese, all wrapped in flaky pastry and baked until golden and gloriously melty.

The question is…

Are you trying one for the very first time?

If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know I’m passionate about keeping independent businesses alive.

Roses has been part of Sheffield since 1940, and while a lot has changed over the years, we’re still here baking bread, making sandwiches and serving our local communities every day.

The reality is that every customer who chooses to shop local makes a difference. You’re not supporting a faceless corporation — you’re supporting local jobs, local families and businesses that genuinely care about the communities they serve.

Final day of 🍩❤️

And we’re ending it with a proper chocolate lovers dream 🤤

Soft doughnut, topped with rich chocolate icing and filled with smooth white chocolate ganache… basically the kind of doughnut that requires a nap afterwards.

This week, every doughnut sold has also helped support — helping children with brain injury and neurodisability across the UK. Thank you to everyone who’s bought one, shared a post or popped in for a treat this week ❤️

Not every day of running a business is glamorous 😅

Some days look more like crawling under counters covered in dust, tweaking shelving, rewiring machines, or cleaning solar panels to keep everything running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

That’s the reality behind independent businesses — lots of problem solving, lots of adapting, and plenty of wearing different hats throughout the day.

Wouldn’t have it any other way though ❤️
