💗 A Goodbye to Bakehouse'22 💗
After four amazing years, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to Bakehouse'22.
When I started this little baking business, I never imagined where it would take me. Four years of baking, creating, learning, late nights, early mornings, countless hours in the kitchen and so many amazing memories. I have genuinely loved every minute of it. 🎂🧁🍰
But behind the pretty cakes and happy customers, there has also been a huge amount of hard work, stress and pressure. I have built Bakehouse'22 around my other two jobs, often baking late into the night, giving up weekends, working through tiredness and sometimes putting in hours of work for very little — or even no — profit.
As much as I love baking and everything this business has brought me, I have to be honest with myself. The stress and pressure of running the business has started to take a bigger toll on my mental health and has made my anxiety a lot worse. And as difficult as this decision is, I have reached the point where I have to put myself and my wellbeing first. ❤️
I cannot thank every single person who has ever ordered from me enough. Whether you've ordered once or supported me from the very beginning, every order, message, recommendation and kind word has meant more to me than you will ever know.
Thank you for all of the amazing reviews you've left me over the years. Reading your lovely feedback and seeing how much you enjoyed something I had spent hours creating has always made all those late nights worth it. 🥹❤️
A huge thank you also goes to the amazing businesses who have stocked and sold my cakes on my behalf and given me opportunities to reach even more people. Your support has meant so much.
Most importantly, thank you for the friendships I've made along the way. I've met some truly wonderful people through Bakehouse'22 — customers who started as strangers and became familiar faces, friends and people I genuinely look forward to hearing from. That's something I will always treasure.
I am incredibly proud of what I have built over these four years, especially knowing I've done it alongside working my other two jobs. I know the amount of time, effort and sacrifice I've put into Bakehouse'22, and although walking away is emotional, I also know that I have given it absolutely everything I had. ❤️
For anyone who already has an order booked into my diary, don't worry — I will absolutely still be fulfilling all existing orders. 🎂
And although Bakehouse'22 as a business will be coming to an end, if you would still like to order something from me in the future, you are welcome to privately message me. I will still take the occasional order when I feel able to and will post about these on my personal page. So this isn't necessarily goodbye to the cakes completely… just goodbye to the pressure of running a business. 🥰
This has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but ultimately, no amount of money, orders or success is worth sacrificing my mental health for.
So, from the bottom of my heart…
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. ❤️
Thank you for supporting my little business.
Thank you for trusting me with your celebrations.
Thank you for every order, review, recommendation and share.
Thank you for the friendships.
Thank you for believing in me.
Bakehouse'22 may be coming to an end, but I will always be incredibly proud of what I created. 🎂❤️
With love,
Jess x
