We will be out on the moors again today and most of this week setting and serving lunch for some of our overseas visitors
Lunch today is platters of smoked salmon followed by Roast locally reared sirloin of Beef with heritage tomato salad and horseradish
Treacle tart with crème anglaise and a cheeseboard from our local only suppliers
Lunches on the moor for special occasions can be booked any time of year subject to weather !

On we will be closing the shop slightly earlier as we are heading to upper Teesdale to serve afternoon tea for a large charitable group as part of their community gathering
We’ll be open as normal all day until around 3 when the shop will close

We were delighted to have a visit this weekend by Margaret officially the oldest fan of the Lewis Hamilton fan club, proudly showing off her new signed Ferrari Cap just received from the official fan club. After enjoying a 4 course lunch with a glass of Sancerre Margaret headed home with her partners in crime Elaine and Neil no doubt to watch some more Formula 1. Today I’m making some delicious breads using Tees Valley Honey to rise the bread and getting rid of the refined sugar from our recipe
The results are fantastic a smooth steady rise on the bread gives a domed top developed glutens which are easier to digest and a hint of the honey on the finish
