Okay, I need to tell you something...
I don't do celebration cakes anymore.🥺
I've had a few enquiries come in recently (more in the last two weeks than all year!) but I've had to politely let people down this week and it didn't feel right not to explain why properly. So here we are.
A few years ago, cakes were a big part of what I did. But a combination of things changed that, and honestly, the cost of living has a lot to answer for!
Let me be real with you, which I'm sure you've heard before but the cost of literally everything, water, electric, ingredients, packaging, and minimum wage ... A basic celebration cake takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to make. Which means a basic cake priced fairly and honestly needs to start at a minimum of £90.
And look, that price is completely justified. The skill, the time, the ingredients, it all adds up. But it's also meant that the demand for celebration cakes has changed, and for a one-woman business like mine, keeping constant cake-specific stock on hand for sporadic orders just isn't practical anymore.
So I made the decision to step back from them and focus on what you lot love most and is most consistent.
Our personalised loaded brownie slabs, cookie pies, blondies, and mixed boxes. Many of our options can all be customised with a name, message, or topper and they make just as much of a statement at a celebration as any cake would 💜
If you've got a birthday, anniversary, or occasion coming up, we've still absolutely got you. Just maybe not in cake form 😄 And we've always been known for gifting and celebration bakes but that's a story for another day!
