So, a bit of a minor hiccup regarding Never Too Early For Cake cake shed. Following recent contact from the local council—which was both fully expected and welcomed—I have now received an email from Trading Standards. According to their guidelines, I am required to apply for a formal street trading licence before I can continue operating as normal. I was aware that this might eventually be necessary, as I have been closely following several other cake sheds operating across the country to see how they handle and navigate this specific licensing process.
Therefore, effective today, Thursday October 22nd, my wonderful little cake shed will be temporarily closed for drop-in visits. Quite annoyingly, I had already purchased all the ingredients and supplies for this upcoming weekend's menu. To make sure nothing goes to waste, the menu is below so that you can place pre-orders for collection. Once you order, I can send you a direct payment link. Operating on a strictly pre-order and collection basis does not fall under the definition of street trading, so this allows us to remain fully compliant with regulations. 🤦🏻♀️
It will unfortunately be a smaller menu than I had originally envisioned, as I had prepared plenty of festive Halloween-themed ideas. However, if this temporary system functions smoothly, it should serve as a viable way forward for the next few weeks while the formal licensing details are properly addressed and sorted out. Alternatively, depending on how things progress, it might ultimately prove simpler to close operations entirely until all official paperwork is fully finalised—time will tell.

Morning window: 08:30 – 10:30
Afternoon/Evening window: 16:00 – 18:00
