I’ve been wanting to create this palette-style cake design for such a long time, so I was absolutely thrilled when Leanne contacted me last week to ask if I could make her 50th birthday cake.

Fortunately, due to a last-minute cancellation, I was able to take on the commission — and I truly loved every moment of creating it. I’m so pleased with how it turned out.

Leanne collected the cake this morning ahead of tomorrow’s celebrations and told me she could have cried when she saw it, which honestly means the world to me. I still take such great pleasure in seeing customers genuinely love their cakes.

✈️ Flying high at 90 ✈️

I was honoured to be commissioned to create this Spitfire-themed cake for Peter’s 90th Birthday celebration 🎂

This bespoke design featured a light Genoese sponge filled with conserve and vanilla buttercream, perfectly sized to serve around 30 guests. I love the soft sky-blue finish, fluffy clouds, and the Spitfire flying high above the cake — a perfect centrepiece for such a special milestone ✨

The cake was delivered locally free of charge to the customer’s sister, ready for the celebrations.

A very different birthday cake request this week for a dedicated Coventry City F.C. supporter 💙⚽

I was asked if I could create one of my folded shirt-style cakes, designed with the sleeves tucked underneath to allow for even more cake — and I absolutely loved making this one!

As football isn’t really my area of expertise, I did some research into the team’s shirt designs and chose the iconic Coventry sky blue colour scheme for inspiration. While I couldn’t fully recreate all the fabric-style embellishments, I’m really pleased with how the finished cake turned out — and thankfully the customer was too 😊

In fact, he loved it so much he’s already booked another cake later this year for his grandson, who he regularly takes to Coventry home games with 💙

Inside was:🍋 Lemon sponge🍋 Lemon filling🍋 Lemon buttercream

All finished with Sugarpaste and edible sugar paper details.

🌟 A Truly Special Cake Commission 🌟

This beautiful commission came all the way from the States 🇺🇸 — an early morning email from Sanjay asking if I could help at very short notice. He wanted a replica of a cake he’d seen on our page for his dad, who was about to celebrate his 82nd birthday in just 3 days’ time.

A challenge? Absolutely. But one I was delighted to accept 😊

To make it even more special, Harry’s favourite team had just been promoted to the Premier League, along with being presented with the ELF trophy — so of course, that had to be part of the design!

The cake itself? A delicious buttery Genoese 2-tier sponge, layered with fruit conserve and a rich vanilla filling 🍰

It was incredibly special to see my daughter’s wedding cake — a design that took months of dedication, precision, and love — now beautifully displayed in the wedding section at the Mary Ann Hospice Store.

After closing our retail shop and moving to a home-based studio, I donated this piece so it could continue to inspire others. Seeing it showcased so prominently is such a proud moment.
