Long and boring post alart...⚠️
For all the eco conscious friends out there, I’ve been experimenting cloth sanitary pads with different fabrics past month or two..
Because I use so much disposable pads and tampons if I can make a little difference using reusable then, why not? I would like to live consciously as much as I can. And you see, pretty or funky patterns will totally cheer me up, even if it’s blood stained🙈😝
My question is, what fabric do you like to have on your sensitive part of your body?? I’ve tried T-shirt’s cotton, polystyrene- Lycra (stretchy fabric to make swimming clothes etc) and thin jersey fabric to go on skin side and I just can’t decide which one to go for! I see many brands make them with cotton fabric on skin side but I personally like swimming clothes material as it’s smooth on skin, and you know how swimwear wick away the moisture well? Also I checked that almost all of my knickers👙are made of polyesters and they have never given me a grief. I guess I’m leaning heavily towards swimming fabric but I’m in a little doubt because other pads are made of cotton.... ummmm it’s a tough one to decide!
FIY : inside the pads I use single layer of cotton towelling for liners, few layers of towelling and a fleece for little to mid flow. I haven’t managed to make one for heavy flow because I just don’t like the idea of using plastic coated fabric. I don’t like the texture even if it’s inside. What to do... what to do...🤨🤨🤨
