Well it’s been a manic two weeks! Lots has been going on behind the scenes of cake HQ so it’s about time I shared a bit with you all.
This time last week my daughter Poppy and I entered our work into Cake international. This is a MASSIVE show and being international there was over 1000 entries. It’s held at NEC in Birmingham and after a spooky and fun Halloween night we drove the 3hour drive ready to set up and place our competition pieces at 7am the next morning. It was very busy and exciting but we did it. Poppy entered junior 10-16 year olds (Poppy is 11) and came away with a merit which I am so incredibly proud of her for. This was her first cake competition 🥰
I entered miniature wedding cake category (my cake dimensions couldn’t exceed 15cm by 15cm by 15cm) I came away with a gold, something which I extremely pleased with. I have added a couple of photos below and there will be more to come soon.

I had the absolute pleasure of being asked to judge the Minster Brownies cake competition last night. Oh my goodness! What creative and brilliant bakers they all are! I’ve not eaten that much Cake in a very long time and I must say there were some fabulous flavours and very clever designs.

Well done to all of you. You made mine and the other judges job very hard. There was a lot of cakes to sample and I left feeling very full up with lots of energy from all the sugar 😁 Thank You Brownies for inviting me!

As you know, I love making cakes but every now and again, I completely fall in love with a cake. This one did just that.
This was designed and created for a lovely couple that were married at The Harty ferry on Friday. The whole set up of this wedding was beautifully themed for this time of year and it was a pleasure to be able to match the cake to this for them.
With three different flavours (one for each tier) the baking studio smelt amazing. The flavour choices were red velvet, Raspberry & white chocolate and vanilla caramel. choc
