Today is World Cocktail Day and here’s a new cocktail for you to try with our signature Unaged Revival Rum

🍸 Meadow Daiquiri

• 50ml Revival Rum Unaged
• 20ml fresh lime juice
• 15ml honey syrup
• 5ml Yellow Chartreuse
• 2 dashes orange bitters

Shake all the ingredients with ice
Fine strain into a coupe glass
Garnish with a lime twist and edible flower (optional)

You could switch out Yellow Chartreuse for an elderflower liqueur - St. Germain, or if you’re really stuck but want to make it, use honey syrup only, after all the rum already has character.

Give it a try or pop into your local pub or restaurant stocking Revival Rum! Cheers 🍸

Most people never see what goes into craft rum.

The long fermentations
The cask ageing
The traditional distillation methods

But those details are exactly what create depth, character and flavour in the glass.

At Revival Rum, our fermentations run for over 40 days before distillation through a traditional copper double retort still, inspired by classic Jamaican rum-making traditions. Our aged rum then rests in carefully selected casks including ex-Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Madeira and Maury.

It’s a slower process — but that’s exactly the point.

Here’s a look behind ours.

Met some great people at the Food & Drink Expo and had some really good conversations.

We’ve been catching up with people this week — and it’s been great to see how well “Flammable” was received.

You might even spot it in this photo with Isobel… safely stored in its fire extinguisher housing 🔥

It’s always good to know what people think before you book something, isn’t it? We love sharing what distillery tour visitors thought.

Vanessa bought the tour & tasting as a gift for her husband who loves rum…here’s her full review:

“Booked this experience for my husband.

When we arrived we were greeted by James who talked us through the process of making rum. My husband was given a glass and also got to taste rums straight from the barrel. He then tasted the selection of rums available and we were able to buy a bottle.

James is so passionate about his craft. It’s a great way to spend an hour, especially if you are a rum drinker.

Would definitely recommend the tour, and as the driver I got to bring home a selection of miniature rums and a glass!”

Did you know that rum came about as a by product of the sugar cane industry? Molasses was a waste product of sugar refining that Caribbean (specifically Barbados) plantation slaves and settlers learnt could be distilled into a potent spirit - originally known as ‘kill devil’ or ‘rumbullion’ (a word for a violent commotion or uproar) As you can imagine it became quite popular due to its cheap ingredients and high alcohol content!

Eventually shortened to rum, it became crucial in the ‘triangular trade’ where it was traded for slaves who were then brought in to the Caribbean to produce more sugar and molasses.

In 1655 the British Royal Navy began substituting rum for brandy and by 1731 it became an official day ration, or ‘tot’.

By 1664 its popularity had spread worldwide and New England Distilleries began importing molasses to produce their own rum. Although in the beginning it was harsh, over time, while darker rum was common, the distilling techniques improved and by the 19th century lighter and more smoother rum production became popular.

Definitely come a long way!
