As some of you may know, 3 years ago my sister and her children were involved in a serious road traffic accident.
As a result my nephew (5 years old at the time) was air lifted to a specialist neurology intensive care unit as he suffered multiple life threatening injuries. Once the immediate danger had passed, we were then awoken to the reality of a traumatic brain injury. We were told that Leon would be in a vegetative state or at the very best paralysed down one side of his body. Despite his brain injury he has continued to defy the odds, proving the doctors wrong and is now recovering well. Every day will continue to be a struggle for him and other children suffering with a brain injury which is why we are raising money for The Children's Trust.
The Children's Trust is the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury. They run a range of specialist care, education and therapy services for children and young people from across the UK, including the UK's largest rehabilitation centre for children with brain injury.
On Sunday, 4 of us will be running the Colour Obstacle Rush in Windsor. This is a 5k run, over inflatable obstacles whilst having coloured powder thrown at us. We will also be dodging rapid fire sponge balls, running from colour blasting Crazy Chaser, race on kangaroo bouncers, tumble through inflatable castles and speed down giant foamy slip 'n' slides, rad balance beams and water balloon mayhem.
If you could donate even a pound to The Children’s Trust we would be very grateful. You can donate via the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/Amy-Caplin-Beale
