Information is beautiful. Such claims David McCandless. In fact, he's got an entire book packed with beautifully visualized data of all sorts to make his point. And you really can't argue with that! You simply cannot deny that some of the works that's being produced by information designers around the world is so visually attractive that you could hang it on your living room's wall, even if it involves some random facts about bacon and cheese!

At 2grams, however, we never stop at beautiful. I mean, beautiful is great! But beautifully tasty is even better!! We hear info-graphics and we're already thinking info-cakes! We just can't help it! So when we heard that David and his team were running the world’s first global information design awards and were going to announce the winners at this "kick-ass party-awards event thing" in September, we knew it was time for us to bake some more noise!

The winners were going to receive some generous cash prices, thanks to the sponsors, Kantar. But we thought all 93 projects shortlisted out of 1000+ entries in 6 different categories deserved a treat. And what better treat than a cupcake?! So we got baking and did some basic information design of our own, made a base listing all shortlisted projects in tiny circles and put a cupcake with the relevant category icon on top of each (of course we had back-up cupcakes under the table for top-up). And the results? Well you can see for yourself. Just like we always love to do...design that looks good, tastes great, gets people involved and makes them happy :)

When we launched the 'bake some noise' project, we had no idea it was going to be such a success! From the moment we opened the doors for the launch party until the last day that we were exhibiting during the London Design Festival, we were overwhelmed by the positive reactions and feedbacks we received from those who stopped by, be it friends or total strangers passing by. So as we approached the closing day we decided we couldn't wrap it up without properly thanking our fans who created all that buzz! And we did it 2grams style! We baked a delicious cake and printed some tasty letters so everyone could get their hands sticky and have some fun sticking whatever they fancied. The result was soooo great that we were finding it really hard to cut into. But hey, what better way to appreciate a beautiful cake than by eating it?!! Photographs by Piero Zagami

Lo scorso 18 Settembre il nostro inviato Samuele ha partecipato ad un evento londinese a dir poco originale durante il London Design Festival che si è tenuto a Londra dal 14- al 22 Settembre. Nell'ormai famosa Shoreditch Street, presso Time for T
