The girls headed out for a vegan meal tonight…

So Charlie and I did what any self-respecting father and son would do.

🥩 Steak.
🥑 Avocado.
🥗 Salad.
🍟 A few chips (because balance).

People often think getting in shape means eating boring food or never enjoying yourself.

The reality?

Eat mostly good food.
Lift weights.
Stay active.
Share meals with people you love.

That’s a plan you can stick to for years—not just six weeks.

These are the moments that matter. ❤️

What do you do at the weekend Rob?

I just go around being a baller. 🤷🏻‍♂️⚽️

Great to see Revolution legend back in the studio today. 🇫🇷

Since moving to France he’s started a new chapter, but it was brilliant to have him pop in and catch up. One of the nicest moments was seeing him reunited with his long-term client, Mr P. Those relationships don’t disappear when someone moves away—they’re built over years.

Once part of the team, always part of the Revolution family.

Wishing you nothing but success, mate.

Bonne continuation. 🇫🇷

England v Argentina in a World Cup Semi final.

What a privilege to be there with truly special people.

Absolutely gutted to lose after being just 10 minutes away from the final.

For me Jude Bellingham was our best player in the tournament by a mile. That young man has the world at his feet.

In the end it was Mesi, the old master that was just too good for us.

It’s been emotional…

During the working week you need to be able to have a healthy meal up your sleeve that you can have on the table quickly and easily.

I buy a ready made salad and add baked salmon.

East peasy and healthy too.

Plenty about diet this week but as we know another lever to pull when getting in shape is exercise.

These chaps are all coaches for Poets Corner Football Club and we did a pre season session together. Some of the kids joined in and we had a top session.

3rd slide shows what training plan we did. ⚽️👏🏻🏃🏃🏻‍♀️

Day one of being slightly less of a fat bastard.

Tonight’s dinner:

🐟 Salmon
🥔 Roasted baby potatoes
🥗 Cucumber, tomatoes, olives and spring onion

Finished with lemon juice, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and oregano.

The fitness industry would have you believe you need a £200 supplement stack, a detox tea and a Himalayan monk whispering affirmations in your ear.

The reality is most of us would get pretty good results by eating more meals like this and drinking a bit less booze.

Simple.
Tasty.
Filling.

Let’s see if I can string together more than one day.

I fell in love with football at three years old. Looking back, that was probably inevitable growing up in a football-mad family.

Yesterday, at 47, I finally got to attend my first World Cup match.

To share that experience with my son Charlie and two of my best mates, Big Jon and Parxy, made it one of the greatest days of my life.

I watched my favourite England player of the last decade, Harry Kane, score twice as England produced a brilliant performance to beat Croatia 4-2.

This morning I’ve woken up feeling a little emotional and incredibly grateful.

A huge thank you to my mate Jon Jonathan Saxton for his unbelievable generosity in making this trip possible. It’s something I’ll never forget.

As for England…

Could this finally be our year?

It’s coming home. ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Myself and my mate if many years Smithy set off for a Scottish adventure yesterday.

Great day in Edinburgh yesterday. Few pints and two whiskeys and then big lunch of Haggis and various potatoes.

Went back to the hotel for a nap and slept for 4 hours.

Evening was spent at Sandy Bells where we met a Scot’s man in IKEA braces with no teeth, an Irishman that used to work for the IRA and a man from the Kalahari desert who spoke in clicks.

Brilliant evening but after our lunch time exploits we were back to the hotel for 10pm and asleep by 11.30pm.

Now at Edinburgh station waiting for a train to Aberdeen and then a hire car to the Highlands.

At 47 years old i have played more football this season than I have since my early twenties.

I was asked to play for the newly formed Poets Corner FC mens team in the dizzying heights of Brighton division 5.

Pre Christmas i only managed to get one start but got a chance at centre half in our first game after Christmas. I went to play 13 consecutive games and even getting to captain the team a couple of times.

The team is made uo of 16 and 17 year olds and lads in their early twenties. Then there is a sprinkling of old farts like me.

It’s been a joy playing wigh this team and we have secured promotion to Div 4.

Next year I’ll be there as a supporter having a pint in the club house whilst I watch the lads play. Back to the safety of veterans football next season for me.

As we age you gotta keep the body moving….
