Papercut Writer

Papercut Writer papercutwriter.wordpress.com/ It’s better than giving your betrothed the gas bill! I can include all sorts of different symbols and pictures. No two are alike.

I have always been a bit crafty…in the nicest possible sense of the word, but it was when I first tried papercutting that I really fell in love. Since then I have been using up all the lyrics, quotes and sayings floating about in my head, coupled with my love of typography, to design and make unique handcut pieces of art. These work really well as presents for weddings, christenings, birthdays…and

remember the first wedding anniversary is paper, so what better way to express your love? You can always treat yourself if you like one of the existing cuts I have for sale, or feel free to commission a cut if you have anything you want to have turned into a papercut. A few examples of embellishments I have designed are hearts, flowers, stars, butterflies, smiley faces, bikes, prams, spaceships, music notes, cupcakes, animals….the list goes on and can be cut on a varied selection of coloured papers

Everything you see for sale I have designed myself and as they are all carefully handcut with my trusty scalpel they are all one offs. The designs of my non bespoke pieces will be the exact same, but sometimes they may differ very very slightly from the photos. This is purely due to the nature of papercutting by hand. I frame them using glass aperture frames so the papercut appears to be floating in the frame. I find these really set off the delicate intricacies of the papercut as you can see all the way through the glass. They also go with any décor you have in your home and look lovely either hanging on the wall or freestanding on a mantelpiece, window or shelf. There is a 2-3 week turn around period on any bespoke piece, but if you are in desperate rush please let me know and I will see what I can do. Please get in contact if you have any questions – I’d love to hear from you!

This is my normal 'Why Fit In' papercut, ordered in 'Pretty in Pink' but a bigger size. This is roughly A4 size. The person that ordered this is giving it as a christening present. I LOVE this idea! A piece for the baby to grow with and a message to put them on the right road.

So, this is a shot of my first bit of press! WOO HOO! Not bad going considering I'm only new at this. It is in Gathered by Mollie Makes, which is a really lovely magazine and has some lovely bits and bobs in it.

This is a small selection of some of my Christmas orders and why I've been busy recently!
