🎃 Things are getting spooooky at Fermenti Kitchen HQ! 🕸️

🇬🇪 We're back from our holiday in Georgia, where we had a LOT of freshly baked shotis puri - a traditional Georgian bread! 🥖 It gets its distinctive shape from an interesting method, where long strands of dough are stuck to the inside of a round well-shaped brick or clay oven called toné. We've actually made few successful attempts at making sourdough version of shotis puri in our Ooni oven! The key is high baking temperature and fairly hydrated dough.

It's been a minute...
It has been a little chaotic here at Fermenti HQ with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl. Four months ago she came into our lives and filled our home with so much love, laughter, and sleepless nights(!) 🥰

Thank you for bearing with us while we find our feet and try to navigate this new world. We will hopefully be back to baking and posting more regularly soon 🤞🏽

In the meantime, we're doing our very best to keep both our babies alive and happy (our Fermenti starter and our human baby!) 😅😂

Yay! It's the weekend 😎!

🙈 We forgot to post these pictures of the loaf from 2 weeks ago that we made for ourselves....never too late I suppose!

Safe to say, that loaf doesn't exist anymore, it's now in our tummies 😅

This is just our standard artisan bread; made with only flour, salt and water

Can ChatGPT AI give a good sourdough recipe?
We asked how to make a sourdough loaf with spelt flour, and this was the result.

Our first ever spelt flour loaf! 😍
In short, the loaf came out great, but we had to make a couple of changes to the recipe based on our knowledge. So, ChatGPT isn't great for complete beginners.

We now have a good baseline to experiment further.
