Blew the cobwebs away with a walk by the sea yesterday. It was good to reset my mood with the powerful waves and sea spray reminding me just how small I am. It didn’t even matter that the weather was a bit pants.

It was a weekend of good food and conversation in the company of great friends. All the best stuff.

Now on with my week of working on my website and making plans for early 2024.
There is going to be a complete overhaul of my shop front and what I offer.

Change can be exciting.

Your zoom call is about to start.
You’ve changed your top.
You’ve brushed your teeth. (Or is that last one just me??)

Whether you connect with your clients on zoom or down the local coffee shop, you’re onto a winner if they already have a feeling of what it’s like to work with you.

You can do this through the photos you share so your favourite kind of clients can get to know you before they even reach out.

Creating your brand photos is not about having lovely business portraits of you, although we throw some of those in there too, it’s about showing who you are and the essence of you, your business and how you relate to people.

Working with me is not like have your run of the mill brand photos, we really get to know what you’re about and how to communicate that to others.

The Spring Equinox inspired me to have a bit of a spring clean, not just of the house (before my mother came to stay ha ha) but also my website portfolio.

I had left old images languishing in a nostalgic state for longer than I care to admit. They didn't reflect my recent photography work at all or the fabulous people I've been lucky to work with.

So if you fancy a browse whilst having your afternoon cuppa, I've put a link in my bio for your viewing pleasure ;) You may even recognise a few gorgeous faces from your insta grids.

This week I'm working with a client who is wanting to stand out in a busy market and we're beginning with her website!

Imagine how it would feel to have a whole year's worth of content at your fingertips.
You could easily plan ahead for each week or month with social media and blog posts based around your ideas, campaigns and services.
No more scrabbling around for something to put online and grab your audiences attention. It’s Mimosa season (not the cocktail 😉 )and spotting one of these trees in full bloom when I’m out and about is an uplifting sight this time of year.
For me it’s one of the signs of better, lighter days ahead…along with the sight of snowdrops peeking out.
I love these glorious flowers - they are cheerful, hardy, beautiful and long lasting.

The photos are of the incredibly lifelike faux flowers from Stef’s range. We took pictures of the exquisite products but also included photos of Stef being in her role as designer and flower arranger.

Friday feels.

Hester wanted to incorporate her bike into our brand shoot as this is how she gets to visit her clients living around her London base. Plus Hester is Dutch and loves her bicycle, so it had to feature!

We had some fun doing this panning shot and it took several goes to get right. I love that my clients are up for a bit of fun and experimenting.

Hester is the owner of and is a decluttering whizz.

If you are one of those lucky people that works in partnership with someone else and you get to bounce ideas off each other AND share the work load, then I'm a teensy bit jealous.
It must feel very empowering to have two minds and energies working towards the same goals. Plus you only need one set of images between you to use on social media and sprinkle throughout your website.

A brand photography session can be booked for a collaborative business and not just for us lovely solo biz owners.

Here's the gorgeous Georgie, standing in a pocketful of sunshine.
You may think winter isn't the best month for a photo session especially if having outdoorsy brand photos is part of your wish list.
The thing is showing up online is easier of you have relevant on brand photos throughout the seasons. So over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some winter photo shoots with you so you can can see how we create seasonal and transitional images for your business.
For shoots booked this time of year I offer SPLIT SESSIONS so that you can have a short winter shoot and a longer spring session (or vice versa) at no extra charge. Yep. It's like having two shoots and paying just for one.

** This arrangement applies to all photo sessions taking place before March.
Split shoots at other times of the year have a fee attached.

Returning to work after a long pause coupled with the wintering feeling means I’m going to gently ease myself in to the beginning of 2023.

A delicious trip to the coast is booked in this week which I decided is the absolute best way to start this year. There needs to be sea air, long walks and log fires and an attempt to tackle the stack of books that arrived at Christmas.

After starting this particular book, I’m following Richard E Grant’s example in looking for a Pocketful of Happiness and trying to savour mini joys.

This also means I’m looking forward to sharing photos with you once again and shouting out about the fabulous people I’ve had the privilege to photograph.

This month I’ll be available for meet ups and online chats and taking bookings from February / March onwards.
