As many of you know, I juggle two jobs, run my baking business, and I’m a mum to four amazing children.

What some of you might not know is that my eldest, Nathan, discovered a real passion for rowing when he started high school. Nathan has been training and competing for Trent Rowing Club ever since, taking us all over the country. Over the last 5 years the club has become a huge part of his life and ours.

Trent Rowing Club has long dreamed of improving its facilities for current and future members. Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, the club brought the community together for a fantastic duck race to raise much-needed funds.

Blue Elephant Bakes proudly supported the day by donating a selection of delicious treats to help raise even more for the club.

💙It truly was a brilliant day — full of community spirit, smiles, and support. Here are a few pictures from the event 💙

💙💜 I ran my first children's cupcake decorating workshop for Mother's Day at the Whittington Beavers club! 💙💜

The children enjoyed learning different techniques when creating their cupcake decorations. They had a go at rolling sugarpaste, cutting patterns, creating a marbled effect and finishing them off with a hand full of sprinkles. They all had a go at piping their own buttercream on their cakes too, which can be a very tricky task to master. The children handled it all like pros creating their own unique cupcakes and decorating their cupcake boxes.

All the children had great fun and I'm sure their Mum's enjoyed eating their cupcakes almost as much as the children.🧁

💜Piping Cupcakes! 💜

I love piping buttercream cupcakes but it did take a while to master a lovely swirl on the top of a cupcake.

Introducing my new piping style which creates a rose cupcake - Not bad for my first attempt, would you agree?

I did a plain purple rose and thought I'd challenge myself to do a two tone effect rose.

Which rose do you prefer? What colour or style shall I try next, comment down below.🧁
