Thought I’d have a little look back at some of my bakes in the last week while. 😍 I must be feeling better as I’m desperate to get back baking! 👩🏻‍🍳

It’ll be a wee while yet, so in the meantime, I’m having fun looking at my previous bakes and sitting with a cup of tea going through my cook books! I honestly have sooo many new recipes I can’t wait to try.

Hoping to be recipe testing when I get off crutches in a few weeks 🤩

Tiffin! 💕 I honestly love it. I was playing around with a recipe a while ago and made this one with peanut butter in the chocolate and in the base! 🥜 🍫 It was soooo good! I’ll need to introduce these at our next at home bake.

So you might be wondering why I have had 4 hip replacements, well actually I’ve had 7 hip surgeries in the last 11 years. Here’s why 👇

I love this photo! Believe it or not, 6 years ago today, these boxes of cakes gave me the idea to start our little bakery 🧁

It was my mum’s birthday (happy birthday, mum 🥳) and we were in Covid. We couldn’t all get together to celebrate, so I decided to make her a box of afternoon tea cakes to enjoy. I also made boxes for her friends and family - that way they could all celebrate in their own homes!

I loved how much joy they brought everyone and decided then and there that I wanted to do this again - make boxes of treats to make people smile. Whether for a celebration, a gift to say thanks or just to enjoy with a cup of tea. It made me so happy. It still does.

And so, the idea for The Little Steel Bakery was born 💕

Hey! I’m getting a little more mobile now and the pain is definitely starting to ease. I’m no longer counting down to my next pain killers 😅

Big milestones this week - I managed to shower and dress myself for the first time 🙌 (apart from socks and shoes - but hopefully I’ll manage by the end of next week), I started physio and I’m feeling a lot more stable in my feet. Today we went out for breakfast and it was fab!

I know it’s tiny steps forward, but I let out a wee cheer with each one 💁🏻‍♀️ as it means I’m making progress.

We’ll not know if this surgery has worked for about 4-6 months, but keeping everything crossed and doing everything I’m told.

Good morning, I thought I’d give a little update on my recovery. I got home a week ago and it was so lovely to get back and have my family there to help me. They are very used to post-op life, so I’m in great hands 🥰

It’s been a very sore week, sorer than I remember previous surgeries being, but I think I’m slowly getting on top of it now and feel a little more steady on my feet. I even managed a slow wander along my street yesterday!

For the next 6 weeks I will stay on crutches, only partially weight-bearing, and I am only allowed to sleep on my back 🙈 Believe it or not, this is one of the hardest parts of the recovery process for me.

I’m hoping to start physio next week with the amazing Kinnaird Village Physiotherapy. The awesome Eleri has helped me through all 7 hip surgeries and been working with me for over 10 years - so I know I’m in safe hands.

Ok, I’m going to grab my book and sit in the sun for a while and relax.

Getting home today 🥳 Despite all the incredible staff at the hospital being so caring and supportive, sometimes you just need home to your own bed.

There have been a few hiccups already (like dislocating the new hip 😩), but I’ve been in amazing hands here at Rosshall. It’s funny when the staff still remember you from previous stays! 🙈I need a loyalty card!

Keeping everything crossed that I am now on the road to recovery🤞It’s not my first rodeo, so I know the hard part is still to come - lots of physio, lots of rehab and taking things easy (the hardest part for me🙈) but I am determined that this one will work!

Thank you again for all the lovely messages of support, I was genuinely blown away 💕

Morning everyone! Thank you so, so much for all the lovely kind and supportive messages you sent! I was blown away when I read them this morning.

Surgery has gone well and my surgeon is happy - we’re both now keeping fingers crossed that it makes a difference to the pain 🤞

The plan for today is getting up on my feet and start physio 🫣😅

So we’re taking a little pause. Today I’m back in hospital for my 4th hip replacement. Please keep your fingers, toes and legs crossed that this finally works, 🤞🤞 I’m so ready to be pain free!

I won’t be baking for 3 months, but I’m really hoping I’ll be back at the end of July.

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve decided to document parts of my recovery and I’ll be posting some updates here - that way I don’t disappear from the algorithm and have to start all over again. However, feel free to mute me for a while, if you’d prefer not to see how I get on.

Ok, I’ll see you on the flip side, hopefully fixed and ready to be back baking cookies & cakes soon 🥰🥰🥰

Wow! 🤩 We sold out in just over an hour today! 🙏Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the LOC Hire Stenhousemuir Cricket Club Family Day and joined in the fun, it was a brilliant event. My mum and I were so busy, we hardly had a minute to chat 😅 I’m so glad she was there to help today!

I really hope everyone enjoyed their cupcakes & cookies!
