✨🍰 The Last Slice ✨

Today marks a very special (and bittersweet) milestone — I’ve just created my final wedding cake before closing this beautiful chapter of my business. 💍🎂

Over the years, I’ve had the absolute honour of baking for so many couples, families, and celebrations. Each cake wasn’t just sugar and buttercream — it was love, joy, and memories all layered together.

To every bride, groom, and family who trusted me to be part of your big day: thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💕 Your smiles and stories have been the best part of this journey.

Though I’m hanging up my apron in the wedding and baking world, the love and gratitude I carry with me will never fade. Here’s to new adventures — and to all of you who made this one so special. 🥂✨

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this post.

This will be my final year of making cakes as I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close my business by the end of the year.

The wedding industry and the cake industry as a whole has changed dramatically since I first started making cakes over 7 years ago which has made it almost impossible to sustain a profitable business. My goal has always been to create bespoke, luxury cakes using only the highest quality ingredients that you simply cannot buy in a store. Due to rising costs and a saturated market, It has become increasingly difficult to balance my desire to create my ‘best’ whilst also maintaining a respectable income and a healthy work/life balance.

Aside from this, on a personal level, I am also ready for a change. When I first set out on my caking venture, I could never have dreamed it would grow to become what it has. I have had the absolute privilege of working with some of the most incredible clients over the years to bring their wedding and celebration cake dreams to life. I have made so many memories and fellow supplier friends and have been given so many incredible opportunities through my little business which I will treasure for life.

I feel the time is right for me to hang up my apron whilst I still love what I do. Although Annie Elizabeth Cake Design may not be creating cakes for much longer, it will always have a special place in my heart and hopefully in the hearts of all my customers who have had cakes from us in the past!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the last 6 years, you are amazing!

I will no longer be accepting new orders as I will be focusing my time on completing all of my existing orders whilst also embarking on a new chapter and starting my new career.

Please place any last orders via the website ASAP as this will be closing tomorrow evening at 9pm, after which I will be unable to accept any further orders after this time.
