💜 HAVE YOUR SAY – SEN YOUTH CLUB SURVEY 💜

Following the fantastic feedback we received on our recent post about a potential dedicated SEN youth club, we’re delighted that a survey has now kindly been created by Keswick Town Council - to help us gather more detailed information from our community! 🥰

We want to better understand the needs of young people and families in our area, and hear whether a dedicated SEN session would be beneficial.

📝 Please take a few minutes to complete our survey and share your views:

📅 The survey closes on Friday 6th November.

Your feedback will help us build a clearer picture of local needs and inform future discussions about what support and opportunities could be available for our young people.

Please SHARE this post with other families who may wish to have their say. Every response helps! 💜

Thank you for your continued support! 🫶

We are exploring the possibility of setting up an SEN youth club in Keswick for local children and young people with special educational needs on a Thursday in term-time, 5:00pm – 6:30pm. We want to understand the level of interest and find out what would help make the club welcoming, comfortable ...

💚 WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK! 💚

Keswick Youth Club is exploring the possibility of starting a dedicated SEN youth club for young people with special educational needs.

We’d love to hear from local families and young people about whether there would be a benefit to having a quieter, SEN-focused environment where young people can socialise, make friends and take part in activities.

Would your child or young person benefit from a dedicated session? What would make it accessible and enjoyable for them?

Your feedback will help us understand the level of need in our community and build evidence to support the idea.

📩 Please comment below or message us privately with your thoughts. All feedback is welcome!

📢 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST so we can reach as many local families and young people as possible. Every response helps! 💚

🌍🍌 A big thank you to Keswick Fairtrade Campaign! 💚

At the end of September, we were delighted to welcome members of Keswick Fairtrade Campaign to Keswick Youth Club, who very kindly donated Fairtrade bananas, cakes and biscuits for our young people. 🍌🍰

We’re so grateful for their generosity and for helping us raise awareness of Fairtrade and the importance of supporting fairer, more sustainable practices around the world. 🌱🌎

Thank you for thinking of our young people and for supporting our community. Your kindness is greatly appreciated! 💚

🍌 SNACK-TEMBER AT KYCS! 🥕🍓

We’ve been getting creative with food across our youth club sessions this month! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Over the past few weeks, our young people have been making their own snacks and learning a little more about food and nutrition along the way.

🥕 Week 1: Homemade bean dip with carrots and peppers - with some definite mixed reviews! 😂 Some loved it and even said they’d make it at home, while others weren’t quite convinced!

🧀 Week 2: We invented our own healthy toppings for crackers and got creative with different combinations.

🍌 Week 3: Breakfast banana smoothies made by the young people themselves and enjoyed as a tasty snack of the day!

It’s been great seeing everyone getting involved, trying new things and having a go, even if not every recipe was a winner!! 😆

💙 WE NEED YOU! 💙

Keswick Youth Club is looking for more volunteers!

Our youth club only works because of the amazing volunteers who give up their time to make sessions happen and we’d love to welcome some more people to the team. 🙌

Whether you can help every week, once a month, or just occasionally, any time you can give makes a massive difference. You don’t need to be a youth worker or have loads of experience - just a willingness to get involved, have some fun and support our young people.

Our volunteers help us with everything from games and activities, to chatting with young people, setting up, tidying up and generally helping sessions run smoothly!

Quite simply, we need volunteers to keep the youth club running. ❤️

So if you’ve ever thought “I’d love to help, but I’m not sure what I could do” - please get in touch! We’d be so grateful to hear from you.

📩 Message us here on Facebook or via our email [email protected] !

Come and be part of the KYCS team- we really are a lovely bunch ( even if I do say so myself!) 💙

🧊 A BIG THANK YOU TO LAKES & DALES CO-OP! 🧊

A huge thank you to Lakes & Dales Co-op for supporting Keswick Youth Club with a brand-new fridge-freezer, as well as vouchers to help us stock it! 🙌

This is such a useful addition to the youth club and will make a real difference to what we’re able to provide for our young people during sessions.

We’re really grateful for your support of Keswick Youth Club and the local community. 💙

Thank you! 👏

🎤 Get to Know Your Youth Club! 👀✨

New to Youth Club? Starting Year 6 and joining us on Tuesdays? Feeling a little nervous about what to expect?

We thought it was time for a little Youth Club vlog to introduce you to the faces behind the scenes - our Lead Youth Worker and, of course, the person who somehow ended up making all the social media posts… 👀😂

Whether you’re a new starter, a new Year 6, a parent/carer, or one of our regulars, have a watch and get to know a little bit more about what Youth Club is all about, what we love doing and what you can expect when you come along!

And to our new Year 6s joining us on Tuesdays… 👋💛
You might be feeling nervous, but we promise you don’t need to! You don’t have to know anyone, you don’t have to be super confident and you definitely don’t have to be good at everything , just come along, be yourself and give it a go. 🫶

And regulars… enjoy having a laugh at our expense. We know you will. 😂

🎬 Give the vlog a watch and come get to know us! But most importantly- give us a like or a comment for more behind the scenes! 🫣✨
