Hey folks!

We’ve been incredibly busy lately, so we thought we’d give you a little update on how things work now.

While our pastries have found themselves at home in some gorgeous cafĂŠs and shops across the Borders, Berwick and Edinburgh, you can still get your hands on our beloved sourdough bread directly from us.

Simply place your order online at www.thenakedsourdough.co.uk by 12pm every Wednesday, then collect from our bakery unit on Saturday morning.

We also have a selection of pastries available to order online and over the coming weeks we’ll be bringing back some favourites, including our fougasse and our special loaves.

We know quite a few of you have had trouble finding our bakery unit, so if you’re collecting an order, simply pop this into the what3words app and it’ll take you straight to our door:

Big news… 🎉

From this Friday, you’ll be able to find our pastries exclusively at Soul Kitchen Soul Kitchen | Berwick Upon Tweed in Berwick upon Tweed, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

We’re incredibly excited to be working alongside a team whose values align so closely with our own. Soul Kitchen is passionate about creating honest, flavour led food, championing slow food, reducing food waste and making the most of food donations to create delicious meals that might otherwise have gone to waste.
It’s a philosophy we genuinely admire and one that makes this partnership feel like a match made in heaven.

Our pastries will be joining their own delicious creations, giving you even more reasons to pop in for breakfast, lunch or a coffee and something sweet.

As many of you know, since closing our shop we’ve been focusing on working with like minded businesses that truly care about quality over convenience and Soul Kitchen is exactly that.

If you’re in Berwick from this Friday onwards, make sure you stop by, support an amazing independent business and treat yourself to one (or two!) of our pastries while you’re there.

We’re back at the Border Union Show today, and this time we’ve brought even more bakes.

We’re so excited to share that from today, you’ll be able to find our pastries at Cafe U .

This partnership feels like such a natural fit, being able to work with someone equally passionate about reducing waste, serving fresh, plant-based food, baking from scratch and supporting ethical, fair trade produce.

We’ll be delivering fresh pastries every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so if you’re nearby, pop in for a coffee and a pastry while supporting a wonderful independent business that’s doing things the right way.

As we closed the doors to our little shop for the very last time, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who made our journey so incredibly special.

To our wonderful neighbours in the Woodmarket, thank you for your friendship, kindness and support over the years. And to each and every one of our customers, thank you for choosing us, believing in us, and allowing us to be part of your days. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

While we’ve said goodbye to our little shop, this isn’t the end for us. Our business has simply outgrown the space and is taking a different path. We’re continuing to bake and trade from our kitchen unit, which remains the heart of everything we do.

For those of you who’d still like to enjoy our sourdough & pastries, we’re delighted to say that our website is now open again for online orders.

Simply access www.thenakedsourdough.co.uk, place your order by Wednesday each week and collect from our bakery on Saturday between 8:00am and 11:00am. There’s no minimum spend, just order your favourites whenever the craving strikes. (Bakery address in bio)

Today marks the penultimate day of our bakery shop being open and as luck would have it, it’s also market day in town.

So we’ve brought back a few of your old favourites one last time:

A ridiculously chocolatey Croissant & Butter Pudding
Fresh Fougasse and plenty more fresh from the ovens.

If you’ve been meaning to pop in, today and tomorrow are your final opportunities. We’d love to see as many familiar faces as possible before we close the shop doors.

A little update from us… ❤️

After a great deal of thought, we’ve made the decision to close the doors of our shop at 17 Woodmarket on 28th June.

Over the years, our business has evolved and taken a different path. As we look to the future, we feel that the traditional bricks & mortar approach no longer fits our current business model. Instead, we’ll be focusing our efforts on our wholesale operations whilst continuing to offer pre-orders for collection from our bakery unit at Pinnaclehill, only if there’s enough demand.

While we’re excited for what comes next, it’s impossible not to feel emotional about closing this chapter.

Over the past five years, you’ve been so much more than customers. Together we’ve celebrated milestones, shared stories, watched families grow, welcomed new faces and built friendships that we never expected when we first opened our doors.

From the very beginning, through market stalls, our beautiful Jedburgh shop and finally our home here in Kelso, this business has been built with love, passion and an awful lot of hard work. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to bake for you, to be part of your daily routines, your celebrations and your special moments.

We are incredibly grateful for every loaf you’ve bought, every pastry you’ve enjoyed, every coffee shared and every conversation had across the counter. Your support has allowed us to do what we love and for that we will always be thankful.

For anyone holding a gift voucher, these can be redeemed up until our final day of trading on 28th June. If you’re unable to use your voucher before then, please get in touch and we’ll happily arrange a refund of any remaining balance.

Thank you for an incredible five years, your loyalty, your support, your friendship and for making The Naked Sourdough what it is today.
