Spent the best part of yesterday....and if we are honest about it black people think about this frequently.
How we can best support one another. Now is the time we all unite and have those difficult conversations.
We need to support one another in business and in life. If you know a black business you can buy from do so... forget about convenience of going to all these other places.
Invest in one another
If your friend has a business idea and they share it with you, support them and push them to start it or believe in themselves.
Learn our history
We wasn't taught a lot of our history, we need to feed our soul not or ego and start at the beginning... so our children understand their roots and we as people build stronger foundations.
Bring back the community spirit
We need to talk more...social media has it's good points, but it also has a lot of negative points. Be aware of your environment, a mother that may need help with childcare to secure that job, a man that may need advice on how to speak his feelings for his mental health.
Breath life into our children..the next generation.
Teach them finance!!!! I will say it again. TEACH THEM FINANCE!!! How to manage money, how to save, how to invest, the stock market. Its not about fashion and having the latest trainers.
Support them in education. If you are a teacher and can dedicate time to teach our youths who's parents cannot afford a tutor to help struggling students. Please do so...
Free community activities for the black youth to occupy their time.
TALK.
We are taught "we don't chat our business to other people"... well I am starting to learn that there is POWER in communication and from that learning from one another.
THINK! think about your next holiday destination. The number of countries that rely on the tourist industry..... instead of going to a country that has a high influx of tourists, go to the countries that could benefit from tourists visiting. As a black person learn your culture and history. GO BACK HOME!!!!
I take it for granted that I have lived back home and regularly visit home, so I feel grounded to my heritage. But we must learn all of what we are as a people.
