Any Harry Potter fans here? 😁

I was so delighted when my nephew told me that he wanted a Harry Potter themed cake. I grabbed the opportunity and decided to make a golden snitch cake which I have always wanted to do!

The cake was such a challenge as it was carved from 4 layers of 10 inch sponges so yes huge huge cake but I'm so thrilled with the end result! The main thing is that the birthday boy was happy with the cake 😁

Gold lustre dust: light gold
Colour pastes: extra red, extra black, golden yellow

The other day, I was handing over an order and the woman said "I've read your reviews".

This made me realise exactly how important reviews are. It could be the thing that made the woman choose to order from me over someone else.

Funny story about the gold effect on the cake 😆 So I read online somewhere that you can use piping gel with lustre dust to make a paste to use for stencilling and well I tried it and it was a complete FAIL 🙈 I panicked and thought 'OK let's cover the whole thing' and it ended up like this 😳 Good thing the cake was for my sister 🤣

I've always wanted to try and make wafer paper fans so really chuffed that I got to do it. Thank you for the tutorial 😁

I'm still not sure whether I like this effect or not...Let me know what you think below ⬇️

I had the privilege of being given complete free reign with this cake and just love how just two colours give such an elegant cake. Of course, you can never go wrong with a marbled fondant wrap 😄

You are probably wondering…

‘Why did I post this?’ 🤔

This is what I used to think and what holds me back sometimes. Sure, everything has its ups and downs and the same goes for cakes too! 🎂

OMG, I think my worst experience was on the day where it was 40℃ and literally everything was just melting! 😞 I was so close to giving up and just ordering a Cake Box cake to make it up to the client 😭 But eventually I thought ‘No, let’s push through’, so I pushed all the negativity out and finished it. In the end, the client loved it 😁

I also remember feeling like this before I started Absolutely Precious Cakes. But then I plucked up the courage and just thought that I would just see where it goes. When I reflect on it now, I’m so happy that I just went for it! 💗

I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the love and support from my friends and family and also for your continued support ❤️

If there is something that you have been putting off or have negative thoughts about, push them out and do it!! 😁

I'm so thrilled with how this cake turned out and it was the first time I actually painted on a cake (grass was painted).

A simple and fun cake to make 🥰
I don't know if you have noticed but I love making football scarves lol you will see one on every football cake I've made haha

Unfortunately I didn't have time to take proper pictures of the cake hence why I had to blur the messy background 🙈
