Yesterday was Monday. And what do we do on Mondays? On Mondays we go to Minor Injuries and play the game ‘which son’s done what to his body this week?’. I’m going to market this format to the BBC as I feel it would make excellent Saturday night telly. In other news Leeds (Leeds Leeds) didn’t win this weekend but the shirt cake went down well anyway.

These mountain bike cakes are super popular at the moment. The biker in my family is still currently without bike, owing to his collar bone healing. Can’t say I’m really missing the low level background worry that when your phone rings it could be him telling you what he’s broken now.

Yesterday we managed to have three hospital appointments spread across two injured boys, and a trip to the vet so little Miss Melodrama could have her dew claw sorted. There’s been a lot going on this week so a trip to the pub with my pal for a b**r was very much the order of the day. But Madeline doesn’t need to go the pub because she has fizz in her actual cake. So, last week I asked you what my pyramid shaped cake was going to be, and if you answered the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury (which surprisingly no one did), then you were correct! Layers of red velvet and cream cheese frosting stacked up and carved into a pyramid, decorated with a crowd of little heads and the obligatory flags (Jaffa cakes are biscuits right?)
