Glasgow Baking Club

Glasgow Baking Club A group of Glasgow-based home-bakers who enjoy sharing cakes, bakes, and banter! From beginners to baking aficionados, we welcome you all!

If you like to bake and socialise with like-minded people, then come join us at the Glasgow Baking Club. We meet about every 6- 8 weeks, any night between Monday to Thursday, from 7.00pm mto 9.00pm. We set an open theme for each event, for example 'spring bakes'. The theme is just a suggestion, you can make anything you wish and bring it along, sweet or savoury. We are a mixed bag in terms of what

we do, where we come from and what we bake, which makes for a lovely, fun and interesting couple of hours. We sample the bakes on the evening and take a selection of what is left home with us. It is a very friendly and informal group. There is no membership fee, organisers are volunteers and we are given the venues free of charge. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our last baking event. It really was love at first bite 😂😉 We had some wonderful bakes including:
-coconut and lime loaf
-quadruple chocolate cake
- millionaires shortbread
-pecan and butterscotch tart
-cheese and Jalapeno scones
-hazelnut, cream and marzipan cake
-heart sugar cookies
-pandan chiffon cake

We are pleased to announce our next event will be on Monday 27 October in The Language Hub & The Cafe Hub, 7.00pm - 9.00pm. The theme is 'Halloween/Autumn' and is a catch all for all things autumn - halloween, harvest, bonfire night, sweet or savoury bakes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our meeting!❤️ We had an amazing collection of bakes including some savoury goodies such as chorizo manchego and fennel seed biscuits and a courgette and cheese bread. We also had some lovely sweet treats - a pecan pie, a Torta della Nonna, heart-shaped shortbread and brownies, Nutella cookies, almond shortbread, an apple pie and apple crumble slices! Thanks again to everyone for baking!🍰

Our next meeting will be at the end of March so keep your eyes peeled for that!
