Pastel pinks, tiny toadstools, butterflies, hand-painted names and the sweetest little fairy perched on top 💕 I loved bringing this enchanted little cake to life.

I love making the little details that turn 'a' cake into 'their' cake but it doesn't always go right first time!

A very special 70th birthday cake 🤍✨

Soft ivory, dusty blue florals representative of J&S's wedding, textured with royal icing and finished with touches of gold. Also one very important little four-legged family member had to make an appearance 🐾

I absolutely loved bringing all of these details together for this one.

Can I pick your brains a sec?! 👀🎂

Us bakers know what cakes cost us to make and sell but we also understand it doesn't always align with what customers are willing or able to spend and so, I’m doing a little R&D behind the scenes and I’d love to know what you would actually expect to spend on a custom celebration cake these days.

So please, let me know, if you were ordering a cake, what would you expect to pay for:

🎂 A simple cake: a lovely clean design with a name/age and simple decoration

✨ A more detailed cake: themed and personalised, with more decorative elements and details

🖐️ A highly detailed cake: lots of custom elements, handmade figures/characters/pets and more intricate decoration

I’m not looking for the “correct” answer. I genuinely want to know what you would expect to pay when looking for each type of cake.

A very special cake made in memory of Karen 🤍

Her family wanted something that felt uplifting and full of personality, incorporating some of the little things she loved. The woodland theme came together with a sleepy hedgehog, bees, ladybirds, flowers and mushrooms, all handmade especially for the cake.

It was a privilege to be trusted with something so personal, and I hope it brought a little warmth to a very difficult day.
