Penguin pair 🖤🤍

How cute are these bride and groom penguins I created for a wedding cake recently. A take on the traditional but kept it unique to the brides love of the birds. Plus the fact that penguins have life long partners made it equally romantic 🥰

Delivering a wedding cake during a heatwave is not for the faint-hearted! ☀️🔥🥵

I’ll be honest, it was stressful. There were a few sleepless nights beforehand as I carefully planned every detail and used every bit of knowledge and experience I have to make sure the cake arrived looking exactly as it should.

With the soaring temperatures, I spoke with the bride and we made the decision to change the finish from buttercream to ganache. It wasn’t a decision taken lightly, but it was absolutely the right one to give the cake the best chance of surviving the heat.

I’m delighted to say the cake was delivered safely, looked gorgeous, and was enjoyed by everyone on the day. ❤️

The only adjustment was that the cake cutting took place much earlier than originally planned — but sometimes a little flexibility is needed when Mother Nature decides to turn up the heat!

All’s well that ends well, and seeing the happy couple with their beautiful cake made every moment of stress worthwhile.
