Eydon Ladies Group We are a group of women living in or near Eydon, Northants. We meet on the third Wednesday

October is a busy month for us, our Harvest Supper was a great success. Everyone worked very hard, Lyn and Gail decorated the tables beautifully, Hazel made a delicious chicken casserole, Lyn made a vegetarian meal, Ruth prepared a tasty apple and blackberry crumble and Jill cooked a moreish gluten free version. Bert created a fascinating display based on sheep, spinning and products that can be made from wool including knitted and felted items. Many thanks are also due to everyone who donated raffle prizes, helped set up the hall, served food, washed up and cleared the hall at the end of the evening. As a result we were able to donate £300 to the village hall and the same sum to St Nicholas Church.
Our regular Eydon Ladies meeting is on 21st October at 7.30pm in the village hall. Alex Wood will be talking about the long tradition of theatre in Northampton. It's an open meeting at which everyone is welcome, guests pay just £5 including refreshments.

Our workshop with Michelle, from Michelle's Fancy Felts was a huge success. She talked about the history of the fairly new craft of needle felting before letting us loose to create our own pieces. At the end of the evening we all had a robin. Some were made into key rings and others will be used as Christmas decorations.
Our October meeting is on 21st at 7.30pm in Eydon Village Hall when Alex Wood will be recounting the history of theatre in Northampton. It's an open meeting at which everyone is welcome, guests pay just £5 including refreshments.

At our 16th September meeting in Eydon Village Hall at 7.30pm we are going to have a needle felting workshop with Michelle from Michelle's Fancy Felts. An experienced teacher of the craft, she will talk about the processes involved and then we can all have a go. The meeting is open to all ladies, guests will pay just £5 and that includes refreshments at the end of the practical workshop.

Not long now before our meeting on 19 of August in Eydon Village Hall at 7.30pm. This meeting is for ladies only, guests are welcome - just £5 each.
We are going to try our hand at Tai Chi Chih - a gentle, meditative movement which is suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes. Afterwards we will relax and have time to chat over refreshments.

Looking forward to our Garden Party on Wednesday. It looks as though we're still going to enjoy good weather and it will be good to escape football!

As promised here are details of our new speaker for our open meeting on Wednesday 17th June at 7.30pm in Eydon Village Hall.
It will be Fay Tennet, she is going to tell us about the time of the Westminster terror attack, when Parliament was suspended and the aftermath. She was Deputy Director of Security Operations at the time so her talk will be fascinating.

Clare Hollingworth, the intrepid war correspondent, journalist and author, is the topic for Eydon Ladies' meeting on 17th June at 7.30pm in Eydon Village Hall.
She, as a young reporter, broke the news of the start of WWII, and led a fascinating life. Our speaker, Ken Bryan, knew Clare so this makes the evening particularly special.
Everyone is welcome to come to this event, husbands, partners, friends and family - guests pay just £5 which includes refreshments.

Last month's meeting, where we tasted three of Pinnock Distillery's fabulous gins, and a sneaky spiced rum, was a huge success. Lewis did a fabulous job of explaining how the gins were made and Kevin did a great job of handing round the samples and telling us about the Freespirit Pubs family.
